Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

I saw Bride and Seed in theaters. Bride was the talk of my elementary school and it rocked in theaters, seriously, I loved it.

Seed I followed online until release and blah....nearly ten years later and my reaction to it still feels fresh. I hated it. Even at the tender age of 14.

Ha, I told all the kids at my lunch table about all the horror movies I watched from first to third grade. I told one of them about I Spit On Your Grave and Dead Alive and she threatened to tell the teacher on me.

Totally different Elementary School experience. (lol)

I honestly think he looks the creepiest hes ever looked, despite him looking like hes had a face lift, and his hair straightened lol. Im guessing Bride & Seed are being ignored in this right?

I found this on Tumblr and this theory sounds REALLY interesting:

Okay, I have a theory.

The film is titled Curse of Chucky, right? And there are two dolls that do not look the same.

Personally I think that someone is ‘trapped’ in a ‘fake’ Good Guy/Chucky doll, forming this.

And this is the real Chucky.

Or there is a ‘curse’ that makes him become more human as the film process.

Or we can just think that there are two Chucky dolls running loose.

Yeah, I hope that's the case. I'd rather have that than a fuckton of continuity errors or something. After all...look at the top pic, then look at the bottom pic.

Top pic = Freckles.
Bottom pic = NO freckles.

Hmm.

I thought that's just a cgi effect of chucky. They were just able to make him more realistic then the bottom chucky. Why would someone be trapped in that fake doll and make that creepy face? lol unless they were brainwashed into being bad.

That black stuff might be just a bruise since he's turning human. I like the second theory.

While I wish it would have gotten a theatrical release(and it pretty much LOOKS like one)- I rather have this be a success on home video/On Demand instead of battling tough competition at the box office and potentially flopping.

Exactly!

tbh I'd be fine with most big franchises going this route as long as future products look as good as Curse does. I mean most horror franchises do huge on home video anyway- taking that into account studios might be more willing to give us more sequels that do huge on home video/on demand instead of taking a chance and having them only do OK(Scream 4) or horribly(Texas Chainsaw 3D) when released theatrically.

That being said nothing can ever replace watching a movie in theaters but...something is better than nothing. And as long as the movie is good I could care less.

I am definitely going to watch this movie in peace in the dark when I get it. No one bothers me <_< Still not sure if I should preorder it or not cuz I don't want to pay shipping if they make you pay for it.

I'll just shoot out to walmart and get it opening day. I don't have 2-5 on DVD, so I think I might just have a double feature of CP1 and COC. That would be great ESPECIALLY if COC is a direct sequel to CP1. I know it ignores Bride and Seed and its been speculated it picks up after the first three but idk...I keep having a strong feeling it'll either be a direct sequel to the first or the first two, but not 3(due to the lack of stitches but who knows)
