Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end. |

Ah that's kind of high. O_O Apparently its the same price at Walmart as well. Weird. I figured the regular DVD would be $13 and the Blu Ray/DVD combo pack would be $18. |

Yeah I should've checked somewhere else but I was being lazy about it. lol I heard the blu ray has more features then the dvd. Anyways, I just finished it and I freaking loved it. I was not disappointed at all. The music and atmosphere was fantastic. There were definitely some shocking scenes. I liked all the characters even the bitch. The kills that were actually on screen was pretty good. Gorey at times. chucky seems more bad ass in this one. Cursing more and cunning. I loved his look. I have no complaints. The ending was great. Be sure to see the post credit scene as well. Don't click on spoilers if u didnt see it Spoiler: click to toggle

Glad you enjoyed it :D I really hope I like it as much as a lot of others have. Seems to be getting mixed reviews from a lot of fans. Sucks about the blu ray having more features, I guess Ill have to get the combo pack unless the Blu-ray-only features are only like...three minutes each or something. |

Yikes. I take it WAS 3-6 deaths? Don't give me an exact number though. Shame since the trailer actually made it look like it had a lot more.

It's actually more then that. 7-10 It actually felt less for some reason but still wish they were more. None of the kills were memorable unfortunately. But it's not as bad as the worst deaths that was posted in the worst kill thread lol |

Well as long as the deaths are better than the bulk of the Seed Of Chucky ones I'll be fine.

Lol, there's only like...two or three deaths in Seed that were even 'okay' imo. But yeah, lets not poison this thread with THAT mess of a film.

Saw this last night: I liked it. I didn't love it as I was hoping I would, but it's a solid film. It's much darker and Chucky is particularly nasty and demented here. He still has some comical lines, but he is a piece of work here. I was torn on his look. In some scenes he looks like normal Chucky, and in others he looked so different and so....wrong. Lol. Brad Dourif was in top form in the voice department and the supporting cast were pretty good in their roles, although I can't say I really cared for any of them (except Nica). There are some bloody and gory scenes, but not many and they don't linger on it too long. Only 7 kills (two of which you see after the fact and one is a "boo" jump) and only two were memorable. It could of been better in that department. And since it had such a low budget, the majority of the movies is in one place. However, there are some classic old school horror movie directing and angles here that I appreciated. Bottom line? It would probably be 4th out of 6 for me, but it's still a decent fillm. You don't even hear Chucky talk until about 45 minutes into the film, but that's actually okay too because they build it up with some suspense and the whole "did I see something move" out of the corner of your eye thing. The last several minutes are killer and a treat for fans (including cameo). You also have to stay AFTER the credits for another fan pleasing momen with another cameo. This movie was a love letter to the fans. Brilliant direction, awesome throwbacks, decent enough kills, just a complete blast. Don Mancini made me proud. Not a perfect film but it doesn't have to be. Loved the direction and style, it was beautiful and almost artistic. So far it's my third favorite. |

Ehh I wish I shared the sentiment. While I loved the location, atmosphere, direction, Nica, and Brad Dourif's voice acting as always, a lot of the other things here fell flat or became way too confusing for a CP film. Spoiler: click to toggle The death order was insanely predictable and I don't think they should've even bothered trying to build suspense with the whole poisoned chili thing since erm...for the sake of the story it was PAINFULLY obvious who was going to get the 'bad dish.' The dialogue was okay for the most part. Ian was just a pointless douchebag. Barb was a total bitch who was entertaining at times but not enough to make up for the fact that she was overly controlling and insensitive. Meh. Chucky himself was more effective here than he was in Seed but that's not saying much and he was far better in the first four films, especially factoring in that godawful flashback. Spoiler: click to toggle Another thing I didn't like was how disjointed the ending was. So erm...what the fuck HAPPENED exactly? Did Chucky Spoiler: click to toggle Overall though, I DID like this for the most part. Better than CP3 and Seed Of Chucky and a liiiiiiittle bit behind the original film. Its nowhere near the level of CP2 and Bride though, sadly. 7/10 |
