Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end. |

Watched it for the second time last night. Didn't realize just how slow paced it was the first time but oh well. I still liked it more than I expected to. The ending is still shit though (mainly the backstory; the rest is tolerable). I don't like the thought of Chucky randomly ditching Tiffany to go obsess over some random family for months on end complete with sunflowers and Sin-City-wannabe shots. I stopped paying attention during that whole bit last night, honestly.

Best Child's Play sequel imo. I applaud the decision to return it to it's darker roots. |

While this was better than the last 2, it really wasn't too difficult a hurdle for it to jump. I did have some problems with this, mainly for the way Chucky himself looked, but the movie was decent. I don't like it more than the first 3. |

I finally saw this over the weekend. Not bad and definitely better than the last 2 sequels. |

Because they think it's a "return to more serious horror," which I still disagree with. There is still so much camp here, maybe not nearly as much as in Bride and definitely not as much as Seed, but still more than the first three movies. Plus, Bride and Seed are both VERY unique films, whereas this one kind of feels... Derivative. It feels very much like just a straight-to-DVD cash-in Chucky sequel save for the "getting on the plane" scenes and the scene with Spoiler: click to toggle .With that said, those scenes also quite annoyed me. |

I think the amount of camp here matches the third one at least. |

Great sequel. My only complaint is the look of Charles Lee Ray. Brad Dourif's aged, that's obvious and the films attempt at making him look younger with a bad wig and a crap ton of makeup doesn't do justice, but I do appreciate the films efforts in expanding Ray's backstory and giving closure even if it means bad wigs and black and white lighting, lol. |
