Slightly disturbed and painfully shy Angela Baker is sent away to summer camp with her cousin. Not long after Angela's arrival, things start to go horribly wrong for anyone with sinister or less than honorable intentions.

About as much as THE TERMINATOR is a remake of HALLOWEEN II. (d)

Ended up buying the 2 disc special edition for $16. That's a bit on the 'expensive' side but oh well, I've been wanting this for a while and was sick of being outbid whenever I'd stick to $13 or less. :P

The cheesy soap opera acting, the perverted camp staff, the sociopathic emotionally damaged campers all make this movie what it is. Sleepaway Camp plays like a bad episode of Dr. Phil and I love it.

The documentary was great. It was cute (and somewhat funny) learning about the random teen romance/drama between Felissa and Jonathan on the set and how it was Jonathan's hands that showed up in death scenes and his figure in the doorway in one scene. I didn't learn too many new things from it but there plenty of fun little stories and they got quite a few people to come back. I just wish the commentaries didn't all have the same three people, meh. But I'm sure I'll still like them.

Listened to the newer commentary with Felissa and Jonathan and it was HILARIOUS. <3. I didn't really learn a lot of new stuff about the film but it was really entertaining and Jonathan sounded adorable. :P

That's great. I hear nothing but cool things about them, so I can only imagine how awesome the commentaries are.

I agree as well. This movie's got problems with acting and a few plot points, but the sheer cheek that it has in its willingness to "go there" just makes it so great. I watched this last night for the October challenge, and I can definitely see why this is a cult classic. I can also see that any remake of this is probably gonna suck, playing it way too safe.

My full review is here.

That was the first thing that went through my head when I watched the ending of this film.

And lets not forget that she really transitioned successfully in between the first two films. Granted, she was still batshit crazy. But that's still pretty awesome. (lol)

I love this movie. I still find it funny, though, that people were more shocked to find out she had a dick than to find out that she was the killer XD

Having seen the sequels first, I didn't really like this movie too much when I saw it. After repeated viewings, the movie has kind of grown on me, but I will never like it as much I do 2 and 3.
