Slightly disturbed and painfully shy Angela Baker is sent away to summer camp with her cousin. Not long after Angela's arrival, things start to go horribly wrong for anyone with sinister or less than honorable intentions.

The final reveal is the biggest thing this flick has going for it. Otherwise it's a rather mundane slasher flick. Nothing inspired here (aside from the twist), the kills are tame, the acting is poor, the direction is lazy...you could skip through 90% of this flick and not miss anything important.

Angela becomes a kickass character in 2 and 3, when she's just an awkward kid in 1.

None can compare to the awesomesauceness of Return to Sleepaway Camp, though. ;)

loljk.

Lulz. I have the same thoughts too. I adore the first one, but 2 and 3 will always be my favorite.

Can't you see it? The effects of cinema violence on society?

I still like this more than III and Return but the second is easily the best.

People are way too hard on Return, though. It's not a good movie and feels like a 12 year old wrote it, but it's an entertianing and competent enough slasher film.

Found this on YouTube tonight and figured I'd give it a go. Not as many kills as I thought there'd be. Not only that, they weren't all that special or anything. Except for maybe the one in the bathroom and another one where a curling iron is used. The tragedy at the beginning was a given. It served its purpose for sure. Obviously a Friday the 13th rip-off. Hell, there's even an arrow target practice kill. I knew the twist well in advance, thanks to Robot Chicken. It's like a bad Photoshop though, no? I mean I do like the kids' interaction with their counselors. All that cussing and pranking and shit. Meg and Judy were total bitches, no doubt. I just didn't find the whole end product satisfying in the end however. Maybe a few more drafts to bring it all together. I'd welcome a remake, if I'm being honest, but it's not gonna get away with nearly half the stuff this one was able to get away with. The Bad News Bears/Meatballs meets Friday the 13th. There was no indication that there was a killer on the loose until

So why the main guy in charge would be worried about that and not more pissed about his staff's shenanigans is beyond me. Especially the cook's habits. Everyone's okay with him salivating at thirteen year old kids? WTF?

Anyway, that's all she wrote.

By the way, what's up with that vision Angela has where

Was it necessary to bring all that up at that point in the movie? I guess. Ties in with Angela's confusion. Just was a little out of place is all.

This movie as some of the most nasty vile people in any horror movie, there was not more then one person that was like able in this movie.

And the acting in this movie was so bad that it was really funny and the deaths in the movie were not great but they were some decent death scenes for 80's.

It's was shame that some of the deaths scenes were off screen and we only saw the aftermath of them.

The ending was decent twist, it didn't have the same impact since the first time I saw it, I Still a little shocked by it but when face of the the killer is revealed with mouth open for like ages, i could not help but laugh.

I do think this movie feels a little outdated now and for some reason I did not find it as cheesy as before.

5 out of 10

I've seen this movie a few times now and have come to the conclusion that the only thing it really has going for it is that doozy of a final reveal. Otherwise I don't see it as anything more than typical slasher fare.

Still, that final reveal...
