Just when you thought it was safe to go hiking in the bushes again...along comes Mick Taylor. Kristy, Ben and Liz are three pals in their twenties who set out to hike through the scenic Wolf Creek National Park in the Australian Outback. The trouble begins when they get back only to find that their car won't start. The trio think they have a way out when they run into a local bushman named Mick Taylor. Wait until you get a load of what Mick has in store for them. Their troubles have just begun.

Foreign Horror for you guys maybe.. but not for me :/
Had no idea there was a sequel.. wowee this is the year of the sequels.

Great movie, I like how it's got some influences of the backpack murders (Aussie serial killer Ivan Milat)
the scenery is great, nothing more fucking terrorizing them being in the middle of no where, out back Australia.

I love this movie. It's one of the best slow burn, suspense films I've seen in a while, building up slowly until the final 45 minutes that are beyond intense. It's very brutal and has a couple shocking moments (mainly the death order and who made it out of it alive-if anyone. I forgave the rather disappointing death order (they died in the exact opposite order as I was hoping for, haha) thanks to the fact that it really was a surprise.

I was pretty surprised on who lives. I agree it has a nice build-up with beautiful music. The brutal moments were very fucked up.

I didn't expect that death order either.

Ben is my favorite character and the killer kinda reminded me of the sheriff in TCM lol but the sheriff is definitely more badass this mike. But I did like Mike, but he's not that great honestly.

Yeah, I was always a bit disappointed that Ben disappeared for a solid forty minutes. Compared to what the girls went through, Ben had it easy.

Currently watching a documentary about serial killer Ivan Milat. Fucking scary how in some pictures, he looked ALOT like the killer in this film and the same goes for how one of the real life victims looked like one of the main girls in this film. Eep. *Shudders*

Which is odd since he LOVED The Devils Rejects even with all of its torture and mayhem lol. And he liked the Dawn of The Dead remake a lot too. O_o I would think he would've given this at least two stars.

Rewatched it right before seeing the second one and while I do still love it, I can see why its not rewatchable for some since erm...it takes a full 55 minutes for anything major to happen. (lol) I still prefer Liz and Kristy to the lead(s) of the second film though, and this is the more disturbing, gritty, dark, and realistic of the two. Its just not the most ENTERTAINING of the two. :P

I didn't read any posts at all for fear of spoilers, and I heard it was good. Should I hunt this one down?
