Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

When an alien attack threatens the Earth's existence, giant robots piloted by humans are deployed to fight off the menace.

Oh same here. When is the release date? I love del Toro and the sound in this seems awesome.

Thanks. I've been really keen on his movies since Pan's Labyrinth.

Check it out<3. The trailer is especially awesome in theaters. I'm surprised you haven't seen it yet since it's randomly played before like five movies I've seen in theaters so far this year.

Here's MovieBob's take on it without having seen it yet. I completely agree with him.

Copied from a post I made on Facebook in the gaming group I co-admin for:

Just got back from seeing Pacific Rim. It's literally everything I could want out of a movie about giant monsters fighting giant robots directed by Guillermo del Toro. Which is to say that it's well-paced, visually-stunning, well-acted fun with a lot of really neat concepts and themes that tie everything together in a nice little bow. It's got a lot of nice character moments that the action serves to punctuate rather than the other way around, the action itself is well-shot and very clear as to what's going on without losing the sense of scale, and it's evenly paced throughout the film. All in all a really good movie and one of the smarter summer blockbusters I've seen in my life.

I personally hope this film is the financial success that del Toro deserves it to be for the first time in his career.

Robots =/= Transformers
Alien =/= Bad/boring

Pretty excited to see this though I may have to wait for DVD since I have to choose between this and The Conjuring.

I freaking loved the hell out of this movie. Robotech, Gundam Wing, Escaflownae; the film is a live action anime of sorts. You can even pick up the elements of traditional Japanese animation storytelling in the movie. You want action, it'll deliver. You want over the top concepts, yup, it delivers. You want uniqueness, it delivers that as well. A very cool movie with stylish cinematography, and throw in del Toro, you've got one of the best movies of the year.
