Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

After a seemingly innocent prank goes horribly wrong, a group of sorority sisters are stalked and murdered one by one in their sorority house while throwing a party to celebrate their graduation.

Epic classic. Only thing is it felt a little dry to me, everything else- characters, story, atmosphere- was TOP NOTCH. A must see.

I still wished it had a lot more blood and gore. The only setback for me.

Oh believe me it is, but that's that only bad thing. I love the characters.

Ah, another favorite of mine that knocked my socks off when I first saw it. Sure, some kills were tame and others were completely pointless and that one chick's facial expression when she got killed was hilarious (stick your tongue out and go "AURHG!!") but everything else was fantastic, from the cinematography to the dreamlike imagery toward the end, to the killer, death order, and suspense scenes. I'd give it a 9/10 if it'd had a bit more of a punch when it came to the killings, but as is the film is a solid 8. I really want the two disc edition and I reeeeally wish they'd went with the alternate ending.

In the past few years, I have been trying to get all the horror movies I never got to see before. Most of these have been underwhelming. This one, however, didn't disappoint me. It may not be the best, or even in my top 10 for 80s horror, but it a very solid film and one of the better of it's kind. Sure, it's not that gory, but I don't mind when it delivers on mood, atmosphere, cast and how fun and entertaining it is. It seemed to me that the makers actually took some care with this one and tried to add a bit more touch of class (that score!) to it. Anyways, I was happy with the movie and re-visit it often.

I thought this one was just okay. I agree about the kills being mostly dry. I liked a few of the characters though. I do prefer Sorority Row over this one.
Also...why are the taglines on the poster like those from 70s grindhouse flicks? Lol.

Okay, so I'll admit that I'd never heard of this movie until the remake came out. I saw the remake, loved it and desperately searched for the original. Luckily for me, it was released on DVD a few days after I started hunting for it so I bought it.

I absolutely love this movie. There are some really funny bad acting moments but they didn't take me out of the story which is a plus. The climax of the movie absolutely freaked me out and I loved every minute of it!

Agreed. This would be one of my all time favorites if it was a bit nastier. A little dry. But great atmoaphere and suspense, just lack the good stuff.

I randomly grabbed Sorority Row off the shelf last week when I was looking for background noise, and it got me wanting to rewatch this.

This is a really well-made horror film. I love the score. The kills aren't anything special, but it's so suspenseful. The whole movie is good, but the ending is a favorite of mine. I'm a sucker for movies that get a little trippy.
