I guess it's because they are smarter and more aware than their Scream Queen counterparts. I also loved Taylor in Leslie Vernon, still hoping and willing to add my money for the sequel to get made. She was smart and understood her role in the climax of the movie.

Sidney and Nancy remind me so much of each other, I agree I think it's because of their intelligence and their natural kick-butt attitudes. Those are my favorite kind of final girls.

But then again I don't care for the Scream series period. My favorite Final Girl would have to be Trish from Friday 4 though.

She wouldn't make a favorite of all-time list or anything like that, but Justine from Kristy was definitely the best part of the movie. With a different character and actress, the movie would definitely not be as good.
