Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

....I hardly even consider Army Of Darkness an Evil Dead movie since it's so....different. But I gotta go with that. But Part 2 is only hairs away from it imo. I disliked both but I can at least deal with 2 a bit better than I can with 3.

Army Of Darkness for me as well. I've only seen it a couple of times and once was definitely enough. I had to force myself through the rewatches. TOO over-the-top, corny, stupid, and borderline pointless for my liking. I honestly don't see how/why AOD is seen as the best of the series by so many of the fans.

For me, I wouldn't call it the "worst" since I still enjoyed it, but I liked the second film the least out of all of them. I'd rank them, in order of favorite to least favorite: the first film, then a tie between Army of Darkness and the remake, and finally the second film.

The second film's lighthearted, slapstick humor just didn't jive well with the bloody violence. In the original, the humor was a lot darker, and it made the film even more tense and unnerving. Army of Darkness, meanwhile, wasn't a horror film to begin with, but an action-adventure movie that parodied the sword-and-sorcery genre, so it could get away with that kind of slapstick. Here, it was trying to be both a Three Stooges movie and a graphic, hardcore horror film, and it didn't always work. I've been greatly reconsidering the 4 out of 5 that I gave it in my original review; I'd have to give it another go to decide for certain.

Army Of Darkness. It's not a bad movie, but I've never cared for it. It's just different and I don't like the time or setting.
