Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A woman goes back to the island where her parents were killed. They had been working on a cure for cancer and accidentally raised the dead by angering a voodoo priest. With the woman is a group of mercenaries and they meet up with some other researchers. They raise the dead again and all hell breaks loose.

If Zombi 3 was a huge step back from Dawn of the Dead and Zombi 2, Zombi 4 drove the franchise right off a cliff. There really isn’t much to say about this in-name only sequel that is positive.

It’s a bit of a stretch to even call this a zombie movie, as the zombies appear to be dudes in burial shrouds with a little bit of latex thrown on them. The make-up is not so good. These “zombies” are also capable of running, talking, and using firearms. Take that George Romero! The Voodoo Priestess in the beginning looks more like a poor impersonation from Lamberto Bava’s Demons than a zombie.

The acting is atrocious as is the script. The lead is played by a gay porn star making his lone attempt at acting in a real movie. This is one of those rare gems that truly earned its IMDb rating (currently 3.4).

Anyways, skip this pile unless you are a huge zombie fan or a glutton for punishment.

Such a fun, cool flick! Claudio Fragasso is pretty much a poor man's Bruno Mattei, but he made some damn good flicks in his day and this is probably his best. Great zombies, funny characters and a rocking Al Festa-penned theme song!

Wasn't this directed by the same guy who made Troll 2? That kind of says it all right there.

I have never seen neither this one nor Zombi 3 in their entirety. Out of curiosity for my love of the zombie genre, I feel like ordering them online but I am still not sure if Amazon is shipping them out.

Severin's having a 50% off sale for the next couple days! (goo) So I'll be picking up this, Eaten Alive, Zombi 3, The Changeling, and Combat Shock.
