![]() There's a big valentine-party planned in the little coal mining town of Valentine Bluffs, Nova Scotia. It is the first Valentine's Day party in 20 years, because then there was an accident in the mine, and the accident happened because the men responsible for the security was at the party. The sole surviving miner, named Harry Warden, later killed them, and told the town NEVER to arrange a Valentine's Day party again. The party begins, and so does the killing... Yeah, I watched this with Jonathan last night (technically two nights ago now but whatever) and enjoyed it quite a lot. I'd heard it was one of the best post-Halloween slashers and I definitely feel like it lives up to that legacy. Minus the two REALLY out of place scenes that have already been mentioned, I found it to be a really good-looking, well-shot slasher film with some nice deaths (despite the extended footage being a bit damaged, but that's fine) without any real problems beyond maybe not characterizing enough of the teens. |

Yeah, I wanted some more development for people OTHER than just Sara, Axel and TJ (though we got to see enough of Hollis, Howard and Patty to see what kind of people they were). Sylvia, John, Dave, Harriet, and the others were just...sort of there. And URGH! The harmonica scene and wannabe-soap-opera by-the-water love dialogue scene. That had us rolling the other night. Pitiful shit

I'm glad you enjoyed it Zach! It's not perfect but it's a fun little gritty slasher movie. The kills. <3 |

I liked when the kid gets his head dunked into the hotdogs and the Chief was one of my favorite characters. Edited by Scream, May 24 2014, 05:11 PM.

I was in one of those moods where I just wanted to watch something I knew I liked on Netflix, and I was in the mood for 80s horror. I love all the 80s Valentine's Day decorations. I think it adds a lot of charm. |

The Amazon Prime version is the theatrical version, but the Netflix one isn't. I just double-checked, and it's definitely the unrated. |

Simple; Check the time. If it is over 1 hour 33 minutes, its the Unrated. If its 1 hour 30/31 its the Theatrical.

It's theatrical. Just watched it. Unfortunate that I saw that version but it was a pretty good film still, without the gore. There is some pretty abhorrent acting going on in it, but it's solid in about every other aspect. I knew there was a twist on who the killer was, but I didn't see it coming. |

^That's weird. I definitely saw the unrated version, but Netflix has said that My Bloody Valentine isn't available on Netflix Instant for the last several days. I've been trying to watch it since Friday night. |

I could be wrong, but even before I saw John post that when I saw it was 90 minutes I assumed it was theatrical and well, it wasn't very gory. Luckily, it was a pretty good film so I don't feel super cheated either way. |

I think something is probably going on with Netflix, considering you were just able to watch the movie and I haven't been able to for days. |
