Two young couples on a double date go to a mysterious carnival. As a prank they decide to spend the night in the funhouse. When they witness a brutal murder, they suddenly find themselves in horrific danger.

I thought this was actually boring. I had way too high hopes.

The cover art always creeped me out. I remember not being too thrilled with this one though.

The Funhouse was a boring movie, with hardly any kills. I was pretty disappointed when I gave this one a watch. I was thinking it was going to be a great 80s horror film and instead, I was served up a steaming pile.

wow this film was incredibly boring, still don't know what the hell that thing was.

It came out in one of the best years for horror in the 80's, Friday 13th part 2, The Burning, My Bloody Valentine, The Beyond, The Howling, An American Werewolf in London, The Evil Dead, Halloween II, Hell Night, Scanners.

Actually that's probably one of the best years for horror ever.

Sad you think so. I loved the suspense and the build up when it came to tension. That being said one must walk into it knowing not to expect a ton of action LOL

Boring as hell slasher which didn't make great use of the setting. I didn't care about the characters, the lighting is incredibly dark, it's boring and there's barely any gore. Being generous I'd give it a 3/10. It could be Dark Ride.

I agree with all of you. This movie was boring

No the fuck I wasn't. I wasn't entertained. It was boring and uninteresting. With such a great plot I thought this would be a fun, enjoyable movie. But no. The plot was (bullshit). The characters were meh and there was hardly any death or gore. 3/10 (thumbsdown)

just so happens this film was on today. must say, it wasn't as horrible as sum make it out to be. its a nice flick from the 80's that definitely deserves a decent viewing.
IMO, not a bad flick. a little slow, sure, but the ending was disturbing and worth the scare

Michael Meyers isn't some sound bite. He's a killer shark in a baggy ass jump suit!

Yeah the last 30 minutes or so is the strongest part of this, no doubt. I still wish we had gotten a couple more kills before the third act though.

It's not a bad movie.

It's not a particularly good one, either.

It's on par with Dean Koontz's novel The Funhouse. Nothing special, but a mildly entertaining effort.

^ It's nothing special. At all, really. But it's a book you can get through in one sitting. It's a quick read.

Funny you mention those together, as Lords of Salem has actually been widely-praised as a novel, while THe Funhouse got horrid reviews.
