Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Praying that this doesn't sound twisted, but I think I can relate to slasher villains because there have been so many times in my life where I wish I could just release all the rage and anger within me. It's like a release for me, and at the same time I am so very glad I have a conscience that prevents me from doing the terrible things that a slasher villain does.

It's that feeling of being torn between that I can relate to very much.

Probably Laurie in Halloween II (2009). No, a serial killer with a mask never butchered my friends and family but I can relate with her depression, stress, and emotion.

THIS.

I relate with the Firefly family a bit. Their interactions remind me of how some of my friends and family members and I talk to eachother, ha. Of course, we didn't go around massacring people though. (yes)

I have a thing for characters who have had a history of abuse, suicidal tendencies, or substance addiction, not only because of my past but because a lot of my closest friends and relatives have faced those things at some point. (yes)

I get depressed and down too but I totally can't relate to RZH2 Laurie like that lol

If anything I relate a lot to Sidney. The whole "every thing you touch Sid dies" line from S3 really spoke to me. I also love how Sidney can go through utter hell but she continues to soldiers through, trying to stay strong. This is best demonstrated in Scream 2. Her refusing to break even though she knows she's close.

I think I relate to Randy from Scream, because I'm not really popular, or on a relationship, and never have been. Plus I alienate people sometimes. Also I make a mental list of horror movie rules...

Hmmm I think maybe vigilante characters. Not that I agree with vigilantism but I think a part of all of us wants to right social injustices and human rights atrocities.

I was sent this recently and just did a 'Yeah you go!!!'

I admire jil from scream 4. I feel like if I were to become a killer, I would do it like her. I would record it...

If I ever become a serial killer I'd be kind of... psycho

I guess I kind of relate to Carrie - not because of her powers and that, but of her being bullied and psychologically ripped apart

I think I relate to the slashers because I have a lot of pent-up anger; the amount of times I want to give someone a darn good thrashing because of all that bullying in school.

Somehow I get the impression that my two comments are linked.
Somehow I don't think I'm all there.

Somehow I'm sure someone here's going to think I'm cracked.

I mainly find myself identifying mainly with characters like Willard (Willard) and Carrie (Carrie), both being social outcasts who have crazed family members and have been hurt by society. Well...minus the supernatural powers and the swarm of rats that kill people for me aside of course.

And I think I said this before, but I relate to Leaven and Worth (Cube) a lot as well for reasons that currently escape me.

I think May's easy to relate to, especially because of Angela Bettis' performance. I think everyone can see their own awkwardness in some of the things that she does during the movie. I dated my own Adam, so I can really relate to feeling like someone likes all the weird stuff about you only to have them reject you for being too weird. I always feel a twinge of empathy when they're watching the movie on the couch, and he wants her to be grossed out and think he's so edgy.
