![]() A man decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living. If you have not seen this film, you need to. Not only is it one of my top ten fave zombie films, it's my all time favorite comedy, ha. All seven of the main characters are well developed, quirky, unique, hilarious, entertaining, and at times VERY sympathetic, with my faves being Barbara, Dianne, and Liz in that order. The guys and Yvonne were still awesome. Before seeing this I expected a lame, bloodless, unfunny comedy. Instead, I got the only comedy film that's ever made me laugh more than just a couple times. It was also very harsh when it came to deaths, despite the over the top nature of them. I cringed when Mary fell onto the pole thing and stood up with that gaping hole. Fucking OW. The effects are also amazing<3. They really didn't skimp out on this one, honestly. The story wrapped up nicely and the entire thing was handled very well. I'm happy to say I have this in my zombie collection<3. 9/10 |

I agree that this movie excels because of its great characters. They all have their moments in the spotlight. This is a great comedy but the horror aspect is pretty good too. |

We need more Horror comedies like this film and Tucker And Dale Vs Evil and fewer Horror-Comedies like Zombieland imo. |

It's the best romantic comedy that just happens to also have zombies ever. I've watched it rather literally over 1,000 times. :I |

I love zombieland, but there was nothing remotely scary in it or about it, I just see it as a comedy. With the other 2 you mentioned at least they incorporate the honorific aspect with the comedy. If more movies were like Shaun or Tucker and Dale, I don't think either of these would be as special. |

Oh no, I don't mean like them in terms of content. I meant that we need more films that properly balance humor and Horror in a way that feels right. |

It's just my perspective, if more movies could do it, it would make the ones that can less special to me. I need bad movies to make me appreciated the good ones even more. If they are all good then none are. What's to tell them apart? (Just how my mind works) |

Good mindset (I too believe that we need bad to balance good), but I'm not entirely sure how it applies here. He's simply saying he wished more films were like Shaun of the Dead and Tucker and Dale v.s. Evil when it comes to the balance of comedy and horror, and having more films that balance themselves more like those two films doesn't really have a connection to those two films being exceptional at what they do. |

I'm not as huge a fan of zombies as I am slasher flicks, but "Shaun of the Dead" has to be at the top of my personal Zombe list. A wonderful mix of comedy and horror, IMHO. "Batman soundtrack?" "Throw it!" |

I think I just like having bad movies to make fun of and complain about. I listen to a lot of podcasts and the most entertaining are the ones ripping on bad movies not good ones. I appreciate the bad that's all, and the bad make the good look better. Shaun of the Dead is also a favourite of mine from any genre, it gets everything right. That record throwing scene can be viewed out of context and its still superb. I really was enjoying Scream 4 the first time I viewed it, and when it gets to Jill and Kirby watching Shaun of the Dead, I wanted the movie to switch to that instead. |

I really like this, I think everyone does. I know for a fact that whenevr it's on, most of the people I know will watch it. It's great that everyone can get the humor, whilst it appeals to everyone due to the mix of genres. |

I thought this was universally loved, and it damn well should be, but i suggested it as part of a movie night and a friend was all "Ugh that crappy zombie film, I'm not watching that ever again." This is the friend that made me watch the first 3 Twilight movies with her. She's lucky I love her, I'd disown anyone else. |

Ooh. I definitely want to get that. Post a pic of it? My boyfriend isn't all that fond of this either but that may be because he expected it to contain Zombieland-esque humor and he's only seen it once. I plan on changing that.

Speaking of this and Zombieland, I agree that this is much better in terms of quality even though I find Zombieland more re-watchable. Zombieland was much more stupid and less surprising but I find it more enjoyable than this. I thought this was surprisingly violent in terms of some situations with the characters and it did have a lot more deaths than Zombieland (which only had one main kill) but I didn't find the humor funny at all. To each their own I guess. At least this didn't have Twinkies. |
