One of Bob Clark's first feature films...very low-budget, silly, and fun. I found Alan Ormsby's despicable character to be really entertaining to watch. There's a plethora of funny dialogue in the movie, and the zombies look pretty great too! I'd say it's worth watching if you enjoy a cheesy zombie movie (such as I do).

A slow burner, for sure, but worth the wait, IMO. Alan is such a despicable character. I would have punched him a long time ago. The story doesn't particularly work for me, but it's unique enough that its creativity keeps it from being a waste of time. I think my favorite character in this has to be Anya. I love the zombie make-up and some of the kills, but those kills should have been better. Yet for a low budget this was fairly decent. Better than most big budgeted zombie films, I'd say. Definitely watch this one if you're a zombie buff. I love the music in this as well. Altogether, 6/10. It's sad that Bob Clark died and never got a chance to remake this. I realize he wanted to make the zombies rap in his remake, but . . . it could have worked. Maybe (wary)

RIP Bob Clark (rip)

I didn't particularly enjoy this one too much. It felt slow and I realize it was low budget, but I found myself wishing it was already over many times before the end. Not one of my favorites.

I've only seen it once, back in the early/mid-90s, and didn't like it. I barely remember anything about it now, aside from the main plot and some truly dreadful early-70s fashion. This was screenwriter Alan Ormsby's first film (both as writer and actor). Fortunately, he got a lot better as a writer after this including, among others, Deathdream, Deranged, the Cat People remake, Popcorn and the classic bullied teen flick, My Bodyguard.

My advice: Give this one a wide berth and go with one of those others instead. Especially Deathdream, which IMO doesn't get near the attention it deserves.
