![]() After the continuous sleep walking episodes of Sharon, the young daughter of Rose Da Silva, the decision is made to take Sharon to the place only mentioned in her restless dreams- Silent Hill. However, the road to Silent Hill is anything but easy to access, and Rose creates a high speed chase between herself and a police officer only to end in a crash for them both. When she wakes up, Sharon has disappeared and Rose is at the entrance to the deserted, dream-like town of Silent Hill. As Rose begins the search for her daughter, she does not realize the terror and mystery surrounding her. Rose is led on a blind search for her beloved daughter, finding herself getting more and more entwined into disturbing past of Silent Hill. |

This is probably the best video game adaptation film I've ever seen. Not perfectly in line with the story of the first game, but a nice little pragmatic adaptation that shows love for the original without just mimicking it outright. |

I'm holding out for a movie adaptation of Tetris, or at the very least see what Duncan Jone's does with World of Warcraft but I agree this is my favourite horror game adaptation. It's disturbing. The janitor scene still makes my skin crawl. |

I did like how they changed the main character as a female. i do enjoy the videogame's storyline more but I can see why a lot of people enjoyed this. They still made it disturbing like the game. |

This was incredible, SO much better than the shitty excuse for a sequel we got. |

Revelation had a ton of potential. Jodelle is 18 now she so could have returned. Oh well. Revelation fell apart for me towards the end, it got really campy and OTT. |

I loved Silent Hill. It's two hours long but the pacing made it feel like it was only just over half that length. The acting was top notch, the atmosphere was perfect, the story was great, and it managed to be a fitting homage to the games WITHOUT trying too hard to FEEL like a video game. |

Pretty slow-burn but still surprisingly scary. I love the sometimes disturbing violence in this film. The effects were great for the budget they had. |

Hurts me knowing it took us SIX long years to finally get a sequel and it ended up being booty. Smh. That being said I will still look at this movie as one of the best modern horror movies of the decade. It was everything I'd want in a horror movie. |

I had no idea it was based on a game. Come to think of it, I didn't even know there was a game. |

I have to say that I love how lady-friendly this cast is. Most of the major players are women, and they are supportive-kick-ass women who don't just stand around and scream at the dark shit. After Pitch Black, Radha Mitchell is one of my favorites, and she really put her back into this one. Never had a clue about the game, but I really, really, really enjoy this movie. Looking forward to adding this (and even the booty sequel) to my collection soon. |

This is probably my favorite video game film adaptation. So many great characters, pyramid head was (and still is) pretty frightening, and it was nice having a mostly female cast. |

I loved the atmosphere in this movie and the acting and set design was really well done but it bored me to tears. It's sometimes effective but I didn't care for it. 5/10 |

This is the absolute best video game movie ever made. I doubt any video game adaptation will ever, ever top the brilliance that is this movie. |
