Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

After the continuous sleep walking episodes of Sharon, the young daughter of Rose Da Silva, the decision is made to take Sharon to the place only mentioned in her restless dreams- Silent Hill. However, the road to Silent Hill is anything but easy to access, and Rose creates a high speed chase between herself and a police officer only to end in a crash for them both. When she wakes up, Sharon has disappeared and Rose is at the entrance to the deserted, dream-like town of Silent Hill. As Rose begins the search for her daughter, she does not realize the terror and mystery surrounding her. Rose is led on a blind search for her beloved daughter, finding herself getting more and more entwined into disturbing past of Silent Hill.

This is the absolute best video game movie ever made. I doubt any video game adaptation will ever, ever top the brilliance that is this movie.
Mortal Kombat. (coffee)

This is definitely a great adaptation though, which is rare for Hollywood. Even though it does change the plot a little bit, as a big fan of the games I love how they nailed the atmosphere here. The scenes within Silent Hill itself feel just like the game, so kudos there. Plus all the actors did a good job of bringing the characters to life. I do feel like it drags on at times, but it's still enjoyable. The finale in the church is so satisfying. (flame2)

Recently saw this for the first time since 2006 and it's nowhere near as scary as I found it the one time I saw it. I wasn't aware of the video games and just found the imagery, themes, and atmosphere horrifying and the CGI looked a lot scarier in 2006 as well.
