After a high school track runner, named Laura, suddenly dies from a heart attack after finishing a 30-second 200-meter race, a killer wearing a sweat suit and a fencing mask begins killing off her friends on the school track team one by one. The suspects include the track coach Michaels, Laura's sister Anne who arrives in town for the funeral, the creepy school principal Mr. Guglione, and Laura's strange boyfriend Kevin.

This wasn't very good. I expected more, since this is one of the more popular ones.

This is another slasher movie that I heard about and looked forward to seeing for years, and when I finally watched it a couple months ago I was a tad disappointed. It had an awkward pacing, some horrendous acting (far from the worst I've seen though) and some of the kills were either very dry or very stupid. Chances are that this will be something I like more with each rewatch. Right now though, I can't rate it any higher than a 6/10. :P

This was always one of those famous titles I knew about but never saw. One of those films that was never on TV and never saw in the video store. Thanks to Amazon, I got my copy earlier this year and....it was disappointing. It was definitely not as good as I hoped it would be. It certainly wasn't the worst, or the most disappointing, but it wasn't as insanely entertaining as a slasher movie called "Graduation Day" from 1981 should of been.

I don't HATE it, but mainly only cause its an 80s slasher, and 98% of ones that are complete crap, I still have a soft spot for. I still don't like it though.

I don't hate the movie either, but it was a disappointment. It could of been so much better. I mean, an 80s slasher with that title and idea had so much potential to be a lot cooler and a lot more fun than it was.

True :P I didn't think it was awesome either but I don't see it as one of the worst of the decade like some people do. O_O

I've seen people give it pretty high ratings and a lot of respect though, not to mention its been referenced occasionally, so I don't see why you think its hated. Chances are some people hate it though, but that applies to every film.

I think the only reason its gotten high ratings is cause it came from 1981, the slasher golden year, which i admit DOES make me not completely dislike it, but theres alot of other 80s slashers that are way better.

Found the Legacy Entertainment DVD of this at wal-mart years ago. Pretty good film, though I've never really been interested in films from Troma.

Linda Shayne is in this. She co-write and starred in SCREWBALLS. Classic sex comedy.

This isn't as horrible as everyone makes it out to be. I liked the characters, deaths (though it needed to be gorier) and it had the perfect 80's charm to it. I just found it a bit boring in some parts. 6/10
