We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

I guess that's the case about the ending. :P I really liked this, watched it with Robby last night. Some of the kills were really good, but a bit unclear because of the video quality and I wish ALL of the kills had been onscreen

Karen annoyed the piss out of me. Dumb questions, clinginess, and she ended up doing pretty much nothing at the end. My favorite was easily Tod and Terry's mother. She was batshit crazy, hilarious, had too much to drink (when she was on the phone, I fuckin' died) and I actually felt a bit sorry for her. This was a lot better than expected though I wish it'd felt more Thanksgiving-y. With a runtime of only 1 hr 18 min before the end credits started, it went by pretty quickly. I wish that the mom had

Terry, Tod and Gregg. Yum<3. Pretty surprising that Louise Lasser was in this. Looked at her filmography and she's been in a TON of things, mainly from the 1960s till the 1980s. Fun fact; she was married to Woody Allen.

And is it just me or did she look and sound ALOT like the mom from the Black Christmas remake in this? :P

lol I love when shes on the phone with the operator..
"He escaped from his mental institution.....what? what number do I want?"

And yeah, she did remind me of the mother in Black Christmas '06.

....

This movie had me like

That's good btw.

The opening of the film got me. Instead of opening with a teenage couple tonguing each other down like most 80s slashers, the film kicked off with two adults making out, one of them being the mother to two twin boys who are "sleeping" in the back seat. I guess Mama Tongue is so focused on getting some lovin that she goes deaf and fails to hear her two sons make a remark about her hootchin' plus their initial escape from the car. One of the boys, Terry, ends up killing a horny teenage boy but pins it on his innocent brother Todd who is sent away for ten years or so but escapes. You pretty much get what the rest of the film is about, innocent Todd is trying to clear his name while his psychotic brother Terry goes on a bloody rampage leaving their poor mother stressed and depressed. Sounds sorta like a bad soap but I digress.

The movie is packed with brilliant and nasty FX that gives Final Chapter a run for it's money. The body count is quite nice and there was very little "restraint" when it came to showing the kills in all their glory. Thrown into the mix to help round out the bodycount are Terry's unsuspecting college buddies, Todd's psychiatrist who really knows the truth along with her dumbass orderly, and Mama's new McMuffin. But aside from the great kills, where the film truly shines is the story of the mother. She begins to crack as the stress of everything begins to unravel. The actress did an amazing job and really made her headache, pain, and slight insanity absolutely believable. While some of her acting was a little flashy, some of her strongest moments were the subtle looks she would give. The moment when she tells Terry not to tell anybody about Todd's escape because she wants the Thanksgiving dinner to go well but he does it anyway...that look of hurt, betrayal, and shock she gave him nearly pierced my heart. That's some powerful acting, something you wouldn't expect to see in a movie like this. Hell the concept is hell of a lot better than a lot of the other super contrived "evil twin" slashers out there- I'm looking at you INITIATION.

This deserves a 8.5/10

That ending was powerful as well, one again, something you would not expect to see in a movie like this.

There were of course some stupid things that made no sense. The biggest is- So a mental patient escapes and instead of...idk...alerting the local authorities the psychiatrist thinks it's best to go investigating the dark area around the patients' home calling out his name? um...ok. Oh, and yeah, your lunatic brother has escaped and is lurking around your house, but let's still go over there and get hot and heavy....

But small things like that should be expected. It's a slasher.

LOL yeah that made little sense either but like you said, its a random 80s slasher so if that's the worst thing about it, then hey, we're in EXCELLENT shape. ;) Glad you enjoyed it a lot! I like it the more I think about it and i'll probably give it a rewatch sometime in the next month or so. The ending, blah. :(
