After a cruise ship capsizes, flipping completely upside down, a large group of survivors must fight to survive against a series of dangerous obstacles in their journey to the hull of the ship, and their freedom.

Sorry for the crap poster but I couldnt find a better one. Ive been a fan of this movie for like fifteen years now, ever since I first saw it on TV when I was little. It's surprisingly violent at times, full of intense and suspenseful sequences and realistic, beautifully written and acted characters. it contains all the disaster film cliches you've seen before, but works with them will. 8.5/10

This is such a great movie. I love it. It's a movie you can always watch. Great cast, great effects for the time, and on and on. Just a lot of fun and a hell of a movie.

What makes you think of Titanic, Monkey? :P I don't see much of a similarity between the two at all besides the fact that they both involve ships that meet disaster.

Anyway, solid movie. Like others here, I've been a fan of it for most of my life. Always breaks my heart seeing [spoiling] Mrs. Rosen go out like that. [/spoiler]

It's certainly mine.

Anybody see Beyond The Poseidon Adventure? I haven't seen that one.

I have! :P Just bought it a week or two ago. Its good but the worst of the four. This is still my favorite of the lot, and watching all of the special features on the two disc edition after I rewatched this a few nights ago made me appreciate this even more. I love all the religious symbolism here, which is rare for me. I guess its because it wasn't insanely heavy handed and that viewers can still enjoy this even without 'getting' the religious content. I do wish some things from the book (such as

OH MY GOD! The commentary with the women who starred as Linda, Susan and Nonnie!

Carol Lynley: Look how Red Buttons had his hand over my mouth when I came up-
Stella Stevens: Like he's trying to drown you! ^_^

*Christmas tree scene, Linda going up*
Stella Stevens: Hush...now...think about my panties!

*When the kid is shown*
Stella Stevens: See, he looks like a demon! ^_^

Pamela Sue Martin: oh...Oh where did you go?
Spoiler: click to toggle

Stella Stevens: Ohhh, Linda, my Linda! Ohhh...toasty toasty!

I'm fucking dead. (lol)

The commentary with Ronald Neame was pretty decent. Lots of nice info there and he did a pretty great job with remembering and talking about everything for a dude who was like...95 years old when he did the commentary! O_O

I just wish we could've gotten that 2 disc special edition DVD sooner so we could've had Shelley Winters and some of the others who have passed on do commentaries (or at least interviews). :(

Annoyed because I let my stepbrother and his grandma borrow this over a month ago and there's still no sign of it. With the six new relatives (including four kids) staying there I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up lost, broken, or pawned. <_>
