Lance Preston and the crew of "Grave Encounters", a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena have been reported for years. All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted - it is alive - and it has no intention of ever letting them leave. They find themselves lost in a labyrinth maze of endless hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the former patients. They soon begin to question their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of madness, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital's dark past...and taping what turns out to be their final episode.

This cracks me up, so funny.

I love the scene with the gardener (some dude like that) where they slip him some money to say whatever they want him to.

Some friends that have watched it found it really scary, each to their own I guess.

Creepy but the acting and writing was pretty weak. Good for one watch.

The acting was intentionally bad in some places, the cheesy host and his specialist dude but I think they really pulled it off once it cracked on and got more serious.

Hope to see more from these guys, see what else they can do.

This was scary as hell, and downright hilarious when it needed to be. I loved it.

Watched this a looong time ago and I really liked it, aside from the fact that every now and then they showed a little too much. The black dude (JC?) annoyed me but I loved Sasha and the main guy (till Sasha became WT Carly 2.0 anyway). The ending was odd and made very little sense and I hated the part with the cheesy giant black arms. Blech. Aside from that, it was really good.

I loved that the movie made the Asylum it's own character. This allowed for some damn effective scenes, that induced quite a bit of chills. The use of some unnecessary CGI brings the score down a little, but overall, this is one spooky movie.

Yeah, this. Not to mention I wanted to throw a brick at the guy who would not stop talking. Almost the entire time.

Yeah T.C was annoying at times but funny. I oddly liked Houston(idk how you spell it) well actually all the characters were great especially matt. It has some scary moments but i definitely wouldn't call it the scariest movie and it's definitely not going to give me nightmares. The handheld camera was done really well. The acting was intentionally bad, i agree of course. Some funny moments like the gardener. I didn't like

That rat eating is fucking gross. The ending made somewhat sense to me when you think about the stuff

I really liked this movie. im not a huge "ghost" movie guy, since the ghosts are always trying to "help" or "warn" the characters in their own way. not this movie. the ghosts are pissed AND bored.

I figured the bad acting was deliberate and I loved the scene with the gardener. it just showed the truth behind that ghost hunting crap in a funny light.

and the ending made sense to me. it was a FUCKED up hospital in life and death.

Michael Meyers isn't some sound bite. He's a killer shark in a baggy ass jump suit!

Yeah the acting is definitely deliberate except when the real shit happens. It's actually funny. I love the hospital setting.
