To cash in on all of the "real world" hype of the events in the first film, a man from Burkitsville, Maryland opens a "Blair Witch Hunt" tour, which shows patrons various locations from the original film. A bunch of college students decide to take the tour, and wind up in Rustin Parr's house. There, they decide to camp for the evening, but in the morning, they realize they didn't sleep and they don't remember anything that happened the previous night. From there, they go back to town, and discover that something...or someone has come with them.

I think it's pretty mediocre, but it's entertaining in a guilty pleasure kind of way.

Watching this right now, because it's on Amazon Prime.

I can understand the hate, because the original was really great and iconic for its time, but I do think that this is a severely underrated film. It has a lot of great moments and truly creepy atmosphere that few other films manage to capture. There was a surreal sense of dread throughout the film that mirrors the feelings felt during the original film.

I view the first and the second film as good films in their own right. As someone said earlier, at least BW2 had the balls to try something new instead of being a rehash of found footage the way the PA series went.

I'd be game for a BW3 one of these days.

Saw this on VHS as a kid, and all I can remember is the ending and my parents saying that they liked it more than the original.

Not great, but I'd probably take it over the original. This seemed to have a bit more going on, and the characters were more bearable.

Puppy, just because there's no evidence she killed her aunt doesn't make her dating material.

Loved the original (still do) but I've tried twice to watch this flick, and both times have quit on it after fifteen or twenty minutes. I get a kick out of seeing a young Jeffrey Donovan as one of the leads (loved him on Burn Notice and Fargo season 2) but this one just refuses to hold my interest. Maybe one of these days I'll make myself sit through the whole thing, but I doubt it'll be any time soon.

Watching this video analyze this sequel today makes me want to give Book of Shadows another go. Specifically a Director's Cut of it, but that's not bloody likely.Posted Image

Makes no sense when Lionsgate could have released that version on DVD when the new one came out last year.
