![]() Horror Director Alistair Bailey is fired by VHS distributor William King. He believes that his film has been trashed but soon discovers that King tricked him and is planning to globally sell the movie. Bailey decides to don the same disguise as the one used by the antagonist in his film and make a new feature. Only this time the effects will be real! Edited by Vanessa, May 12 2015, 11:01 PM.

I'm pretty mixed on this. Part of me can see why this failed to get distributed, but the other questions why because if you threw it into a pile of other lower grade movies from the 80s, it can get lost fairly easily and fit in just fine. It's not bad, but not completely awful or super enjoyable. It has it's flaws, but I can sort of look past them. Some of them. Spoiler: click to toggle |

You sounded fairly annoyed that it takes half the run time to see any blood. I'm kind of surprised that you don't hate it. |

Where the last half hour made the tiresome first half almost worth it. I still don't love it though. :P. I made that post in my thread before I messaged you being all "Where's the kills?!" |

"You DO know what kind of audience this film is aimed at?" Lol, this looked really cheap right away. The face peel was cool but cheesy. I was relieved when that mostly crap opening turned out to Spoiler: click to toggle King was such an over-the-top prick! I hate it when we hear characters' thoughts and their 'thoughts' are just dialogue we heard in the previous scene. Never Bueno. The film-within-film stuff was interesting; sometimes hilarious, sometimes boring, sometimes pretty cool, always random and mostly pointless. Seriously. Did they really think we needed to watch everything that the killer was watching on TV or whatever? Fade To Black handled that aspect MUCH better. ![]() The musical score was nice but got repetitive with a quickness. I found it hard to believe that the crap movie would be such a worldwide hit. What was up with the Wizard Of Oz-esque 'it was a bad dream...and YOU WERE THERE!" scene? ![]() Alastair was a pretty good character. He always kept me interested, he was VERY harsh at times, and on top of it all, he was pretty handsome with gorgeous eyes. Nothing else needs to be said, really. Nikki was quirky and interesting but not quite loveable. Thank GOD she was nowhere near as innocent and sweet as I expected her to be at first! She Spoiler: click to toggle The weightlifting scene was nothing special. The bathtub scene was good but had a crap payoff. The Exorcist ripoff movie was interesting; crazy Teresa needs to sit her funky ass down! The Happy Birthday To Me-esque Spoiler: click to toggle kill and the electric knife kill were the two best<3. I wasn't impressed by the chainsaw kill either, honestly. Actually, the last 35 minutes or so isn't half bad. It's the first half that's loaded with problems. The final confrontation between Spoiler: click to toggle 3.5/10 quality. 6/10 entertainment. |

Just checked IMDB, and there's an official page for it. According to the section on the budget, it was estimated to be around £400 (which is just a bit above £900 by today's standards of the inflation calculator I used is accurate). That explains so much, but hey, that sounds like a Hollywood budget compared to Ax'Em and Blood Lake. |

I can't believe some of you guys actually enjoyed this one. I've long had a major soft spot for SOV/8mm/no-budget/DIY flicks and even I had trouble sitting the whole thing back when I first saw it. The mind boggles... |

Well, I remember the skeleton mask and cloak, while cheap as hell, were somewhat -- somewhat -- creepy. But that's about all the credit I can give this one.

I heard the director planned on releasing a remastered version of the movie, but passed away before it could happen. Doubt that would have made things better though. |
