Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A mother and daughter move to a new town and find themselves living next door to a house where a young girl murdered her parents. When the daughter befriends the surviving son, she learns the story is far from over.

A simple, effective thriller. Figured the twist out fairly early on, but it was still an effective one.

The limitations of PG-13 kept the violence/ sexual situations to a minimum, but still a well-crafted thriller.

I think this had some excellent moments, and I really liked the final thirty minutes or so. Pretty strong ending for a PG-13 thriller, though it was still somewhat predictable. Some of the dialogue though was HORRENDOUS ("Dickhole is the new asshole" for example) and the main girl's friends ended up being somewhat pointless and uninvolved for the most part. I've only seen that once and that's enough for me. Not that I HATED it, it just wasn't...too good imo. I may check out the Unrated version someday though.

It had a decent slow-burn feel, an okay score, and the acting wasn't horrible. Unfortunately, the jump scares got repetitive and useless, the stupid flashy party scenes made me want to claw my eyes out and it was scattered with pointless scenes and dialogue. It's not horrible but I thought it was below average.

Here are the Unrated differences. Some added dialogue but pretty pointless.

Haven't heard the greatest things about this. If ever I do see it, it'll probably be just for Jennifer Lawrence.

Jennifer was so bland in this and that's coming from a somewhat Jennifer fan. She plays the stereotypical teenage angst character.

I love the ending credits to the film. One of the best parts!

I honestly almost bought this the other day, just for Jennifer Lawrence and Elisabeth Shue. I still might actually, just for the hell of it, but I am expecting next to nothing.

I bought a copy. It's not bad but it could have been better. I'd only buy it for $10 and yes. Some parts are decent but some parts are downright awful.

That's disappointing. The plot sounds great. Is it still worth a watch?

Yeah it's worth seeing once. Just once. Don't spend too much money on it though. I kind of regret me and Robby spending $20+ to see this in theaters last year.

Seems interesting enough, but how good or bad is it honestly?
