![]() At the opening party of a collosal, but poorly constructed, office building, a massive fire breaks out that threatens to destroy the tower and everyone in it. |

Love these star studded disaster movies from the 70s. This is a great one. Paul Newman and McQueen just rock! |

Agreed completely! While it's no Poseidon Adventure by any means, it's still a damn good film. I'll never forget how surprised I was when Spoiler: click to toggle Totally blindsided me!

Yeah, not "Poseidon", but still damn good. That surprised me as well. They don't make 'em like they used to. |

Rewatched this the other night for the first time in years and it was great as ever! I wish theyd went balls-out with the elevator sequence by Spoiler: click to toggle It would've raised the stakes, made it even more brutal and tragic, and it would've made the whole situation more realistic. As it is though, I love this to this day despite the fact that several characters are a bit empty and one dimensional. Some parts are still insanely gripping 40 years later though.

One of the best disaster films of the 1970's. Same man also made the killer bee flick THE SWARM, but he is less proud of it.
