On May 12th, Vista Pacific Flight 7500 departs Los Angeles International Airport bound for Tokyo. The take-off is routine but what transpires over the next ten hours is anything but ordinary. As the overnight flight makes its way over the Pacific Ocean, the passengers encounter what appears to be a supernatural force in the cabin.

It just needs to have an extended ending. I really loved it.

I finally found this thanks to a friend on Facebook.

I really wish I had this on BluRay or DVD, treat it better than some lame Youtube DVDRip with spanish subtitles -_- But I did enjoy the cinematography of this, but since I couldn't turn it up too loud (sleeping house) and the spanish subtitles was distracting, I found myself easily lost. Which is a shame, because I was really liking what I was seeing on screen.

The ending however, just ends. I hate these types of endings. Where's the resolution? What the fuck just happened? No answer. Sadly.

I'd give this movie another chance if I had a better means of watching it, but as of right now, it doesn't look like I'll ever be able to.

Yeah. That's one of the things I really love about it. A lot of people see that as totally stupid but I think it's really great. They just needed to bulk up the third act by about ten minutes. As much as I liked this - not great but still satisfying - it was way too short.

I REALLY want to see this. Jonathan's a lot easier on horror films than most people I know, which is good, because I'm pretty easy on films, too... But this film looks incredibly good, despite some of the less-than-amazing reviews for it.

The title's also been changed to Flight 7500 for its American release.

I'm just wondering why they sat on it for five years.

Well at this point they'd be stupid to expect it to be successful at all. Most of the people who would've seen this in theaters have already watched it on YouTube and elsewhere. I'd probably see it in theaters but I know most horror fans aren't as nice as I am. (lol) A lot of people probably won't buy the DVD either.

I rented this movie and I could not get into it. Scout Taylor Compton look good playing a goth girl. Anyway, what was the supernatural force in the movie?

Got my DVD from Walmart today. I have never seen this movie, but I've heard nothing but good things about it, so I look forward to finally seeing it. :)

I like Takashi Shimizu and a lot of the actors, so. It can't be hated.

Hopefully you at least like it more than I did (and I actually liked it a lot). It's really annoying, still, that it didn't go to theaters here. I think it would've made at least $40,000,000 or so, especially if it came out in 2012 or 2013. (un)

I read the script, and wound up thinking it was really good, even if the twist had been kinda spoiled for me. Heard mixed things about the finished film, though, so I'm hesitant.

^ It's a rather flawed film that's a little bit clichéd in its execution but it's certainly better than quite a few Horror films that DID get big theatrical releases in the last few years (so it probably goes without saying that it's better than a TON of limited/direct-to-DVD films of the 2010s as well). It's far from a favorite of mine though.

I liked this film. It's a decent little movie. Jonathan told me that it feels like a film from the mid-2000s, and I TOTALLY agree with that. The types of scares, the atmosphere, the tone, the characters, etc... They ALL felt like something out of the year 2007.

This was easily one of Takashi Shimizu's worst movies, but since he's responsible for the (excellent) Ju-On and The Grudge movies, I wouldn't say that means the movie is bad at all. It's still quite good as its own movie. It's got a lot of cheese to it, but I don't mean that negatively. It's still creepy in parts, and the cheesy parts of this are cheesy in a way that is VERY indicative of that mid-2000s horror style I spoke of earlier, and I LOVE that kind of cheese.

I liked most of the characters involved. It was hard to pinpoint who exactly were the "main" ones of the main group, as in who would be the survivors, and I appreciated that. I wish Amy Smart was a bigger horror actress, as she's quite good at it. I love that Jamie Chung has done several dark films and several horror films, as she's also quite good in these types of movies. Ryan Kwanten is hot as usual.

I agree with others that it's a fairly flawed film. I feel like it probably got cut to shreds by the studio, which explains some of the plotholes... Well, ONE plothole. Why did Ryan and Amy's characters have two friends board the plane with them but then never speak of the friends again? The friends didn't even show up at all EVER again in the whole movie. It's a small detail, and I won't be too hard on the film for that small detail, but I wonder if they had a bigger role in a different cut of the film... Which begs the question. Why keep them in the final cut at all? Their screen time makes up a good 30 seconds at best.

That was the only real issue that I had with the film, though. Sure, the film's scares were at times silly and what you'd expect from a film of this style, and the film accidentally spoiled its twist for those who know anything about airplanes, but it was still well-done. It had a great cast. Great, colorful characters. A good twist, regardless of it becoming obvious. And a good ending, including a last scene that many have complained was pointless, but I found oddly humorous. (if you understand the context of the scene and the character(s) involved, you will laugh at it, too.)

Decent film. Sad it didn't get a theatrical run. If it had been released in, say, 2008, it would've likely done very well at the box office.

6.5/10

5.5 seems a little harsh for you - it's one of the lowest number ratings I've seen you give! (shock)
