^ I like Stagefright a lot. It's definitely one of the best standalone slashers of the 80s imo. I liked The Den a lot more than I thought I would so it's nice to see that mentioned even though it's nowhere near my own top five.

Yeah The Den does a get but too much in the 3rd act but it did make me paranoid about using my phone/laptop and I loved that. That is stuff that really freaks me out. It left an impact on me that very few slashers do. |

As of now, in no particular order: My Bloody Valentine ('81) Black Christmas ('74) StageFright ('87) Tenebrae ('82) The Hitcher ('86) The Collector ('09) Them aka Ils ('06) The Windmill ('16) Opera ('87) Christine ('83) I realize Tenebrae and Opera are giallo films, but they have enough slasher elements to list them here. As does Christine. A possessed car movie, yes, but with slasher elements, as I mentioned. I would have listed Candyman, but that is a part of a franchise. Or at least has two other sequels. I'd say it's safe to call Them a slasher movie, even though it and The Collector have home invasion elements. Edited by MacReadyOrNot, Oct 11 2017, 05:57 PM.
