Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Do you mind if I give a criticism? Not a bad one - just something to do ith compositon.

I know. My pictures come out crappier when I use my iPad to use pictures. I just don't have any high quality camera. The best I could do is my phone and it no longer works

Dont worry at this stage about a high calibre camera. Some people win photography awards with phones so it's just about practice. What I would suggest with your last photo is cropping out some of the left of the shot. Have you heard of the golden rule of thirds? It's about art composition and what tends to be appealing to the human eye. This article explains it well

http://photoinf.com/Golden_Mean/John_Longenecker/Rule_of_Thirds.htm

quite often when I'm doing my travel photography I will shoot something really quickly, like a bird, person, landscape etc then look straight back through the view finder to see if I can possibly compose the same shot a different or better way. It opens your eye up to different scenarios, so as an exercise for you I would recommend picking up your phone for 10 minutes, half an hour whatever you want and have time for, and dont even take shots if you dont want to but look at different ways to compose. It's a fun exercise. Or if you want to take photos, take two or three of the same scene then post them up on your screen side by side and decide which layout appeals to your eye more.

Play around with cropping as well and do the same thing - post them up side by side, step back and see which one 'speaks to you' more.

De nada. It's really fun to do. We can do it here for comparisons if you like. You obviously have a great passion for photography so good on you.
