In 1982, Crippen High School was the scene of a gruesome series of dismemberment murders, but the killer was never identified. Five years later, Cosmic Pictures arrives at the long-abandoned campus to make a low-budget horror movie based on the tragedy, and suddenly the terror begins anew. The police department arrives at the school to find the building and grounds covered in gore and human body parts, the remains of the unfortunate film crew. The only survivor of this new massacre is the screenwriter, Arthur (Richard Brestoff), who tries to explain the horrifying events to the authorities. The troubled production's leading lady is angered over the demeaning nature of her role, the producer and director argue over the film's lack of artistic merits, and when cast members start disappearing, everyone else assumes that they're just quitting out of disgust. Who is the culprit? Is it the school's principal, appearing as himself in the film for the sake of realism?

This film managed to be so many great things wrapped up in one sloppy, fucked up, hilarious and over the top package. From the kills ranging from funny to brutal, the characters ranging from stupid to memorable to awesome, to the cast (shout outs to Darcy Demoss, George Clooney andf the man that played the camp owner in Sleepaway Camp) to the meta jokes and references to the interesting twists at the very end, almost evetrything about this film was exactly what it should've been. Sure, it does not make my top 20 list of 80s slashers but it is a fun ride and you should definitely watch it at least one time. <3. 7/10 for me.

I've always liked this one. Not a masterpiece, but it's enjoyable and amusing. I mean, George Clooney and the original Marcia Brady? What's not to like?

I remember not liking it as a kid but I was so young and probably didn't understand the humor. I have it on DVD so I might give it a second opinion.

I've been meaning to get the DVD too. Pretty cheap on Amazon.

I have the DVD. Last I checked, there aren't any features though. This is always one of the first movies I show people when introducing them to the 'fun side' of slashers.

Terrific film. One of my favorite non-franchise films. FYI it's not a sequel to HORROR HIGH (1974).

Overall? Meh.

I did get to hear that sweet song though. Also, I nominate the song in the ending credits for our theme song ;)

This is a very dumb meta-horror feat, but it's honestly one of my favorites. I love the dialogue, the kills, the ridiculousness, and especially the original poster.

I still think it's hilarious that you got this and Don't Go To The Reunion mixed up.

I was disappointed with this one, always liked the artwork & thought it would a lot of fun, I picked it up cheap but it just didn't live up to my expectations really.

^ Same here. I like the cover, it was one of the reasons I even bothered picking it up.

I always refer to this movie if only for George Clooney in the beginning, but there's more exciting slashers out there.

It's not a special film by any means, but it's one I actually do quite like.
