A group of extreme college kids head to the slopes for some cool snowboarding and hot lovin' in the straight-to-video slasher Shredder. When they break into an abandoned ski lodge for some fun in the snow, little do they know of the deadly skier patrolling the grounds. As the posted ski rules are broken left and right, that's when the killing starts and the fun begins. With the addition of a mysterious and good looking stranger among their party, the kids soon learn of the bloody past of Rocky Summit and why being a snowboarder there can be hazardous to your health.

So Robby and I watched this the night before last and...I actually liked it a lot. (lol) It was fun and fast paced with three or four really good kills. I loved the setting and the killer's motive. Christophe was hot as fuck (and got not one but TWO nude/sex scenes!). The girls were pretty. Hell, pretty much all of the characters were likeable. But sadly, I only LIKED a couple of them. The rest were annoying and poorly written.

It was neat how some of the biggest setpieces were in the daytime and outside. I like that it never got boring, and I like that it had an okay sized bodycount and once it hit the halfway mark had a kill every 6 or 7 minutes at most.

That all said, some of the acting was pretty bad. The killer's identity was painfully obvious. I guessed who it was before the 50 minute mark (and was correct with that guess even before they hinted anything!). The ending was a bit of a letdown in more ways than one.

Still, despite all that I thought this was mostly okay. I don't regret buying it but I'm certainly glad I didn't spend more than I actually did lol.

6/10 quality, 7/10 entertainment I guess.

Totally just realized I goofed with the review and said "Pretty much all the characters were likeable. But I only LIKED..." when I meant to say "Pretty much all the characters were ATTRACTIVE."

"Snowboarders are the future!!"

Watching this now and it's still just average to me. And I hate the stupid stoner-y dude and camera guy. Ew.

But Christophe...ohsweetmercy.

I actually thought this was pretty fun. They use the hell out of their winter setting, which is nice to see (especially with ones like Cold Prey which completely waste it). The characters are all okay enough for the most part, with my favorite probably being Skylar (camera guy), who was fairly funny and likeable. Kills were decent enough.

Though I probably would have preferred if

Puppy, just because there's no evidence she killed her aunt doesn't make her dating material.

It's definitely fun, hard to find anywhere though.

I did forget to say that blonde bitch was one of the worst attempts at a hatesink I've ever seen. Hated her (and not in a good way)

LMAO! I didn't notice that, but from the little I could bear of Sweatshop (very little), they couldn't seem anty more d ifferent.

Hated her. Not fun, not entertaining, and literally none of her bitchery makes any sense or has anything resembling a point to existing (also, casting an actress who won't do nude scenes in a tole involving a bunch of nude scenes is silly, especially since she's not particularly good). Not at all surprised you like her though :P You always gravitate towards the bitch types, lol

(un) Sweatshop was awesome (mainly thanks to the awesome kills, interesting style, and location - the killer was cool too but I hated the random sidekicks). The characters were just about the only thing I didn't care for but well, basic slashers really don't NEED amazing characters.

No, but they do need tolerable ones :P (likeable ones are also ideal, it's pretty boring sitting through a slasher where you don't actually care about anyone) That said, style was the main thing which put me off. Big time. Those costumes were kinda painful to look at

Bought this years ago. Finally watched it. Nothing special. Unlikable or forgettable characters, weak motivation for the killer, and several embarrassingly stupid moments, especially with the blonde Kimberly. Feels like an run of the mill '80s slasher made over a decade too late for it to be fully appreciated.
