Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A cannibal hermit living in the woods preys on campers and hikers for his food supply.

This is a unique slasher, but the acting in some parts isn't very good. The ghost kids were kind of silly, but there are some scenes I think are great. So, when I blind bought this I was still happy with and it is a pretty good slasher.

Check Youtube, since I'm pretty sure a copy of it is still up; not just clips or the trailer.

Don't expect it to be as good as Wrong Turn and you may enjoy it. (lol) For what it is, it was pretty good though.

I think I started this but never finished it because I just couldn't get into it.

Weird, but amusing film. The beginning makes it look like
another slasher film, but it's really not.

How is it when compared to other "woodland" slashers like Don't Go in the Woods Alone?

It was better than THAT movie, of course. I really need to give it another watch since I've forgotten so much about it.

So I watched it and I can see why I was confused, ha. The opening's pretty similar to almost every other film of this type
Spoiler: click to toggle
and the locations are even similar as are some of the characters and the pacing. Unfortunately, this is shit compared to the films it has those things in common with and after a promising first fifteen minutes or so, and a handful of admittedly good kills in the first thirty six minutes, it quickly took a nosedive into being more of a lame, supernatural story full of ghost kids and bland scenes than a straight up slasher. Simplicity would've worked in this film's favor but instead they tried to be emotional when they didn't need to be, they had ghost kids where there didn't need to be any, and the killer himself stopped being effective before his third time shouting that he "NEEDS FOOD/NEEDS TO EAT/AINT EATEN IN DAYZ!"

I really didn't care for this one at all. The things that saved it were the first three kills, the aftermath of the sixth kill and the way that the seventh was shot, along with the lead girl and the setting itself. Aside from that, it was meh.

5/10 quality. 5.5/10 entertainment.

Watching it now. Snagged the bluray for a shockingly low price. Maybe I'll like it more this time around?

Definitely not your typical horror/slasher flick like "Friday the 13th."
It's kind of weird and amusing, but it has sort of a unique and eerie
atmosphere I like.
