A trio of friends on a snowmobiling trip in the Canadian rockies become lost after venturing up a trail during a snowstorm. They stumble upon a seemingly abandoned hotel lodge and decide to spend the night, unaware of the grave danger that they have put themselves in.

This one is pretty good until the end. The end feels rushed, but the old lady in it is really creepy. The other actors do a pretty good job. The creature itself isn't very impressive, but it was the 80s. I heard that they ran out of money so they had to make a rushed ending which is a shame because this would have been great, but it still was pretty good.

Sounds pretty good. I forgive rushed endings and general cheesiness when it comes to the 80s most of the time so I'll probably like this one despite its flaws.

It sounds pretty good, and a gif set I found just now has me interested.

This is on Youtube, and I'll definitely be watching it tonight, since I'm always in the mood for snow-based horror.

So the main girl in this is super gorgeous and has the most perfect eyebrows (wary)

Anywho, I pretty much loved this. The snowy hotel setting was just an added bonus. I have to disagree with Matheny, the end didnt feel rushed to me *shrug* For anyone wondering, this is not a ghost film. There's literally nothing about ghosts in this, unless you consider

. It's pretty much a slasher, even if it's focused around only 3 people. I did wish there was atleast one more in the group, but oh well. With there being only 3, I was afraid the movie might feel slow, but it never felt slow at all. Marty was an asshole, and I loved both Jenny & Chrissy.

We even get a chainsaw chase (even if it only lasts very briefly), which I did NOT expect to happen in something like this.

It's not gory, but there's a bit of blood to satisfy, and the old woman is extremely creepy (shock)

Definitely recommended (thumbsup)

I agree about the main girl. SO stunning and she didn't seem 'fake pretty' at all either (minus her clearly shaped but still nice eyebrows, lol).

Some of the music in this reminded me of Prom Night and other early 80s slashers so I wasn't at all surprised when Paul Zaza's name popped up in the credits. This is one of his stronger scores in my opinion. This even opened like a slasher film with a typical (but good) kill scene, a rather basic structure, slasher-y characters, etc. The only things that stop this from being 100% slasher = that weird Wendigo shit that barely took up time here despite the opening text and the fact that very few people die (but still...more people die here than in the original Halloween so maybe I SHOULD consider it a slasher, haha).

Ew@Marty trying to pressure the old shopkeeper into going to Florida for the winter. That old dude was the smartest character in the movie for being all, "Uhm no" at that. (lol) I liked the trio a lot (Jenny > Chrissie > Marty) but I still think we should've gotten one more guy and one more girl just to spice things up and bump up the bodycount just a liiiittle more. This had a cat scare that made me giggle.

I really liked the main location and the fact that this took place in such a snowy area during the wintertime<3. "You're a tough one, cookie!" The old woman was creepy as hell and was PERFECTLY casted. I loved her. The "I'm your moooother" scene was pretty disturbing and...yikes. (shock) I actually really liked the weirdness of this and the relationships issues that took up a chunk of the first half.

Jenny's chase at around the one hour mark was pretty awesome but the chainsaw stuff should've went on longer. What was with Marty acting all weird and crazy for a while? Lol. The ending was soo not what I was expecting. I figured it'd end with

Needless to say, I'm happier with the way it actually ended.

6/10 quality, 7/10 entertainment. Not AMAZING or anything, but definitely above average and worth seeing.

he realized she was stronger than he thought, and couldnt handle that she could handle the situation they were in, better than he could. Or maybe I'm looking a bit too deep into it lol. I just really fucking hated him lol.

It really surprises me that you hated him since you're usually okay with characters like him if they're attractive (I thought he was cute anyway, lol). :P

YES! Chrissie was just hilarious in general. I love that she was bitchy but it also seemed like she was too derpy to realize how bitchy and hootchie she sounded at times. (lol)

And I felt really bad for Jenny too especially when Marty gave her that "well..you don't OWN me (un) " bullshit.
I was like, 'he's cute and all but Jenny...you can do SO much better.'

Right? She could probably have any man she wanted, omg.

It definitely deserves more attention. If it hasnt been picked up already, Scream Factory or another company needs to give it a blu-ray (coffee)

I'd buy it<3. I'm almost wanting to wait a month or two to see if a new release gets announced before I show it to Robby.

I'm buying it. Or bidding on it anyway. It's surprisingly cheap everywhere I look. I guess it's not one of Code Red's rare releases after all.

The setting and atmosphere is definitely the movie's highlight, but there are some aspects to it that confuse me. Like the ending, which actually reminds me of TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D, now that I think about it. I get the "what," but I don't get the "why."

Another interesting take on the wendigo or "windigo" legend, and better than WENDIGO (1978), which I watched earlier. Both have great atmosphere, but not much substance.
