Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

A demented coroner uses autopsy equipment to kill off the teenagers who trespass on the long-abandoned asylum he inhabits. Filmed on location in an actual abandoned asylum.

This film is a bad classic! The killer is stupid, the characters are stupid, the kills are stupid (but awesomely gruesome), everything is stupid!

If I could use just afew words to describe this random ass rollercoaster of a movie I would use this: "Incredibly fun and very fucking stupid." It is NOT meant to be taken seriously, even by 80s cheesy flick fans, and features the most stereotypical and idiotic group of protagonists ever, pretty much. The killer seems to be a delibarate ripoff of Freddy Krueger (LOL@those ridiculous one liners he gave during every death, SHOOT ME PLEASE, they were horrendous). The deaths are creative and bloody, but often fake looking. The climax is everything that a slasher film should NOT end with (but is given to us in an enjoyable fashion) and the characters do/dream-about random things...like running through a field into the arms of a complete stranger in a romantic way. Seriously, you have to see this to believe it. I definitely recommend it for nights with friends and/or nights with a large amount of alcohol. 3/10 for quality, 8/10 for entertainment.

This one was shot on location at the abandoned (and now gone) Essex Mountain Sanatorium.

Essex Mountain Sanatorium...killer pictures and lots of information

It's the location itself that makes this one interesting. It has a lot of great footage of the inside of the building.
As far as the flick itself goes? It's cheezy as hell, and a lot of fun. It's standard stalk and splat fare, but the killer is fun, and again, the location is amazing.

Watch out for the old tapes on this one. They're heavily cut. The Code Red DVD is the full version...unfortunately it's also out of print. Of course your ol' pal freak has the full flick for ya (and yes, it's the uncut version). Here ya go:

I was wondering cuz it looks like the poster gives some stuff away unless everyone is meant to die except that lady in bottom right corner.

I love how the girl in the bottom panel/window is looking at everyone as if to say, "What's your problem? Chill."
Anyway, this WAS pretty....well, stupid, like others have said. I enjoyed some parts, others not so much. I might buy it but it seems like there's two different DVD releases and I'm not sure which to get.
