For young Charlie Brewster, nothing could be better than an old horror movie late at night. Two men move in next door, and for Charlie with his horror movie experience, there can be no doubt that their strange behavior is explained by the fact that they are a vampire and his undead day guardian. The only one who can help him hunt them down is a washed-up actor, Peter Vincent, who hosts Charlie's favorite TV show, Fright Night. Vincent doesn't really believe that vampires exist, but does it for the money...

Used to love this movie but saw it again awhile back and I no longer care for it. Too cheesy or I'm just getting old.

This was a Halloween staple from the video store when I was a kid. It's still one of my favorite 80s horror movies. It had great pacing and effects. The plot was cool--getting a guy from the late-night horror show to help you slay the undead--and McDowall is always amazing to watch on the screen. Amanda Bearse is a subtle delight, as well.

Strangest poster I ever saw, but it sounds like an interesting movie.

That poster is hot.
Never seen the movie, but as usual saw the remake. Thought it was entertaining. Kinda made me wish I was in a position to be turned into a vamp and not worry about the consequences. I'm really never impressed with or even like vamp movies.

What would u suggest? Stick with the remake or see the original?

Michael Meyers isn't some sound bite. He's a killer shark in a baggy ass jump suit!

This is a great movie. I've always loved it and love it still. It hasn't lost any of it's charm. Love the whole horror host showing old B movie angle while the film itself is a fun B movie.

Agreed about the compliments to the film (and it's poster) but I can't agree with this since I still see it as just as entertaining as it was when I first saw it years ago. Of course, it's been sometime but I don't think my opinion of it has changed over the last four or five years since I last watched it.

I liked this but it was a bit slow and well...sorry, but it's pretty damn overrated lol. Good as it is, I guess I'm just not much of a vampire lover. *shrug*

I kind of dig this vampire movie, I remember that Marcy from "Married With Children" was Charlie's girlfriend she was a very Hot but scary as Hell vampire goddess.

Saw it for the first time a few years ago and it was ok. The remake is dreadful though.

This is one of my favorite vampire movies of the 80s. It's a classic horror comedy.

I like the remake better, though. :D

seen this movie many times, one of the only vamps movies that I really enjoy, as you know im not big fan of vamp movies.

This movie was really fun to watch, there was some great humor in this movie and the effect this movie were really good,

i love the 80's effects there look so nasty when they are melting (i prefer these kinda of effect in movie then the effect you get in blade) also the make up effect were great for the vampires as did make them look scary for a horror comedy movie.

The acting from everyone in the movie was really good, great movie, 8 out of 10
