Lola Stone asked Brent Mitchell to the prom, but Brent said no, and now he's screwed. What happens when Lola doesn't get what she wants? She enlists Daddy's help to throw a prom of her own where she is queen and Brent is king, whether he likes it or not.

This is one of my favorite foreign horror films from the last decade and easily my favorite Australian horror film of all-time. It topped Wolf Creek, which I thought was impossible. This film has everything it needs. Dark humor, violence, cheesy romantic moments, and a glossy aspect that actually WORKED. I wish I got the chance to see this in theaters in NY.

It's probably in my top 100 now. My main complaint is that the chubby best friend and the goth-ish chick never really got involved. Their subplot was pointless. Completely pointless.
The rest of it though<3. Omfg. The deaths. O_O

I thought it was senseless, over-the-top, bloody fun, and one of the better horror films from my homeland.

This was actually a really cool movie.
I was kind of hesitant about watching it at first, because a friend of mine told me it was foreign.
Once I discovered it was just Australian though, I had to have it.

I loved the art direction mainly. The acting was quite good too.

To me the point of the subplot, which I hated on first watch too, but grew to understand was to juxtapose the normal night our leads should be having instead of the hell he finds himself in.

Oh my god. Just finished watching this. Those Australian accents<3
Is it just me or does the actress playing Lola look like Emily Blunt?
Overall though, I loved this film!

I'm glad you liked it!

I need to introduce this to my friends soon, even though they hate horror films.

The only bit I didn't love was at the end he drove to his house to see his mum. Any normal person who's lost a lot of blood, has multiple wounds and has had a drill shoved in their head would go to a hospital.

I loved this movie and I still need to buy it, but I hate to have to buy a Region 2 because I want the Blu-ray of it. They should release this on Blu-ray in Region 1. I might just get the DVD.

How do the people with holes drilled into their heads still live, wouldn't they bleed to death because of how much blood goes to the brain?

The Loved Ones is an amazing movie. I gave it a 4/5 on my site (The Loved Ones Review)

Excerpt from my review:

"Mind you though, it won't be for everyone, as it does have some pretty intense and gory scenes. Also, the plot will certainly throw you some curve balls, where your only natural reaction is to proclaim out loud "what the f...". However, if you're like me and enjoy a little sadistic, wacky and sometimes humorous story, you'll be pleased to know that I recommend The Loved Ones with all my heart."

Well the dad did inform his daughter to not drill too deep. I guess there's a point where they wouldn't bleed that much or even die.

But I was confused on how

But yeah I really enjoyed the film. some slow motions is really silly and the music is strange but some of it fit well. I loved the daughter/father relationship. Both very kukoo. And boy do I love their toture techniques, made me love toture films even more honestly. Great kills and I did love the ending. I was scared that

That subplot with his fat friend and goth is stupid but like someone said, i guess it's to show what brent should really be doing and having a good time. Brent is cute. Lola is pretty, I would date her. I feel really bad for the
