Seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital during World War II, the sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers to Eel Marsh Harsh has awoken its darkest inhabitant. Eve, a beautiful young nurse, is sent to the house to care for the patients but soon realizes she must save them from more than their own demons. Despite Eve’s efforts to stop her, one by one they fall victim to the Woman in Black.

How much would you pay for this on dvd?

We're trying to figure out how even two people's gifts are going to be in quality, so the worth in Junior Mints would totally work, too.

We went with it being worth one box of Junior Mints and a screwdriver, which I think is about right.

The best thing about this is that it expanded on the ghost's method of targeting children, which is a scary plot idea. The WWII setting also really worked for me. I liked the costumes and set design. I thought the airfield stuff and the scenes involving the young girl were really good. I like the cast, but I didn't particularly like any of them in this. Helen McCrory probably stood out the most. I like Jeremy Irvine and Phoebe Fox quite a bit, but I don't think either did anything great with their characters in this one. The ending was a bit of a disappointment. It felt done before.

I thought it was less entertaining than the first film. The story was interesting, but it didn't have the jump scares or atmosphere of the original. There were tons of jump scares, but I don't think they were executed as well as in the original. The first movie had loads of silence, which I think worked well for it. The cinematography is generally good, but it isn't nearly as effective as the original.

^ Glad you didn't HATE it at least! (lol) You seem to feel about the same way about this as I do. It's not a bad film. It's just one of the weaker theatrical releases of the year (of the dozen or so that I've seen anyway) and it's not AS good as the original.

I just seen this today, I didn't like the remake at all and I didn't like this movie, apart from scence.

So 2 out of 10

Original TV version is the best and can't be touched
