"Chernobyl Diaries" is set in the city of Prypiat that once housed the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, the horror-thriller follows a group of friends who, while vacationing in Europe, find themselves stranded in the abandoned city only to discover that they are not alone.

Does anyone know if this is good? I'm a newbie urban explorer and I got really excited when this came out but I never got to see it in theaters.

Can't you see it? The effects of cinema violence on society?

It's pretty enjoyable I thought. The first half had some great suspense and the found footage angle actually worked pretty damn well! I liked it and wouldn't mind a sequel

I loved this movie and I can't believe it was panned by audiences and critics. I loved the feel and atmosphere of this movie. Sure, a little violence would have been the icing on the cake but the film's raw setting made up for it. So underrated.

Recently bought the DVD and watched it for the second time, finally. I actually enjoyed it more this time.

I really enjoyed this. The setting was phenomenal, a truly spine tingling place that is all too real.

I'd recommend a watch, but it did nothing for me. I did find it sorta fun, saw it twice in theatres (just because different people wanted to see it, and I really wanted to see a horror with a certain friend of mine who's a big pussy cat)

Then get it, its dirt cheap on Amazon. :P

And Gorefest, you really should finish it. It's not great, but its not as bad as people make it out to be either.

I saw this in theatres and LOVED it. maybe it was the experience and surround sound that got me, but I loved the whole atmosphere and plot.

u gotta love originality. plus taking an actual historic event and pulling a horror story out of it? great. I don't remember it being a found-footage type movie. it had a shaky, kinda first-hand view experience about it.

and ive ALWAYS had a hard on for BIG, empty, desolate sets. being set in an abandoned city just makes ur stomach kinda creek lol.

I thought the ending was definitely unexpected but set up a perfect premise for a sequel

Michael Meyers isn't some sound bite. He's a killer shark in a baggy ass jump suit!
