Steven Summers returns home to southern Alabama from college with his girlfriend to attend his Uncle's annual Haunted Hayride. Unaware that an escaped killer is on the loose, Steven will soon face the real life embodiment of Pitchfork a character his uncle created for the hayride and Steven's childhood tormentor. Steven will soon realize that not all childhood fears are imagined when the legend of Pitchfork becomes dangerously real.

Horrible, horrible slasher. Bad dialogue, writing, and cast and characters. I wanted this to be a good independent film but it failed on all parts.

I thought this was pretty good, especially compared to a lot of other wannabe-throwback slashers of the past few years. High bodycount, decent pacing, a couple (4 or 5) entertaining/good characters, a handful of pretty good kills, some nice homages to TCM, F13 Part 3, and other films, and a nice backstory for the killer. My main complaint? The weird ass 'look at me TRY to look Grindhouse!" filter used during the backstory flashbacks. Other than that (which only takes up a couple minutes), it was very watchable and entertaining. Far from the best, far from the worst, slightly above average for me, and VERY impressive for a $60,000 budget film.

Maybe I need to watch it again, but I wasn't too impressed.

It IS good imo. I don't understand the people who are all "Lol I LOVE crappy low budget flicks but THIS film was atrocious and poorly made!"

VERY interesting. Hopefully it becomes a franchise with each film having a slightly bigger budget and slightly better effects than the last. It'd be cool to see the filmmakers grow with each installment. I know a second is being made and released this year but I don't know if they plan on making any others after the second.

I've seen worse of course, but I've seen even more films that were better than this. Hardly memorable, but not too terrible either...but I wouldn't be heartbroken if it just faded into obscurity.

Apparently this has been repackaged and is going under the title "Halloween Haunting." LolWut,BB? Hopefully that's not true because that's just stupid.

That makes it sound like some lame paranormal movie.

Yeah. (suicide) And the poster had the same font as one of the Halloween (2007) posters.

So I'm reading the bodycount in this is 23. Sounds delish.

Yeah the bodycount is really huge. Sadly not too many of the kills are great but oh well. If I can't have quality, I'll take quantity. :P

I pretty much echo these thoughts. The limited budget is very evident. I guess they tried to overcome the lack of effects budget by ramping up the kills. It's probably not going to be one I revisit much, but I'll definitely watch the sequel when I can.

Yeah, I won't be watching it again until I can have a double feature of this and the sequel (which i'm actually looking forward to). The makers showed some potential here and it was pretty enjoyable. With a bigger budget and more resources (which they'll hopefully have for the sequel - though I can't remember how much I know about what they'll have for that, if anything), this could've been pretty awesome. :P

I liked it. Yet again this is another low budget slasher that people rip to shreds just because it's low budget and has 'bad acting'. Honestly? The acting wasn't even that bad, and most slashers that are considered classics were low budget as well, so...

Not saying this will ever be a classic or anything, but by the reviews, I was expecting something, well...bad, or at the very least below average. Instead I got an entertaining hour and a half, full of tons of kills, and even though it could've used some more gore, it had more going for it, so I wasn't bothered by that much. With a bigger budget it could've been way better, but as it is, I was definitely pleased.
