“Stage Fright tells the story of a snobby musical theater camp terrorized by a blood-thirsty masked killer who despises musical theater.”

The main reason I'm surprised is that Kevin seems VERY forgiving when it comes to slasher movies in general, even the awful ones. :P Then again, me and you are the same way and we even refuse to rewatch certain things so...

I love these new retro posters. I didn't purposefully do it, but they're in the order based on how much I like them. There are three of them under the spoiler.

The one thing I did really like is that the movie didn't really do things in half-measures. I didn't exactly love the Camp Rock-lite sections, but I do kind of have to give them points for being willing to go there. A few more winks and nudges at the audience would have been welcome, though. I went in without knowing all that much about it, so I was really surprised by the killer's voice. Despite being pretty corny, I was kind of rooting for him, just because he seemed to be at 11 all the time. Most of the humor that worked for me was from him. The bit with the knife and guitar especially cracked me up. There aren't enough kills, but I did really like the ones that we did get. They're gorier than I was expecting.

Just based on quality, it probably deserves a 6, but I did really like their energy and confidence.

i have literally just put this on to watch.

Just watched the trailer looks like Scream meets Glee.

(suicide)

Ok I am not normally so easily displeased I normally give films a chance, 20 mins in, I am now looking for something else to watch.

How anyone could stand to watch that for hour and a half is beyond me. awful.

This whole time I thought it was a remake.

Nope. But it's worse than any remake they'd probably come up with, to be honest.
I watched it a week ago.

Lol, the opening. "Nooo-o-o-o-o-o." I liked that they addressed the fact that people DO get sweaty and nasty when they're onstage under those godawful burning lights (speaking from personal experience here!). The first kill was terrific! Loved the

I started to become hopeful that maybe Jared misjudged this and that it'd actually be one of the best slashers of the year...

But then the horrendous kids showed up and started singing that even worse "WE'RE HERE! WE'RE FINALLY HERE!" song that was worse than anything I've heard in my years of being a theater nerd. I cringed. The string of insults was funny though...I guess. I guessed that the dad (was he even their dad? it was never clear)

Some of the guys were slightly cute, they got the theater stereotypes and rivalries right (seriously; theater is not as much of a unified, 'lets work together' thing as outsiders think...it's actually pretty cutthroat, meanspirited, etc which is why I'm no longer in it lol). The red haired bitchy chick was my favorite<3.

Artie the director (Glee reference with that name?) reminded me of almost EVERY student director I've ever encountered (lol@one who claimed to be straight but didn't want to give me a part because I wouldn't suck his dick, ew). Ooooooof course, the gay guy is a flaming mess here. Meh. Didn't care for him, but I didn't mind the so-obviously-gay-but-closeted guy and

was pretty cool. Loved the foot impalement/rip but the lightbulb bit was stupid. Halfway in, I started to suspect the main chick's brother. Whyd the face-nails girl die offscreen? Why did it only have TWO KILLS in the first 66 minutes? WHY'D THEY HAVE TO RIP OFF CARRIE?! *Cue El Superbeasto song right here*

The killer's identity (as well as the motive of the secondary villain) = predictable. Still, it was somewhat cool because

The powersaw kill was probably my favorite. The epilogue was just...okay-ish.

Meh.

6/10 quality (love the polished look!). 5/10 entertainment.
With a bigger bodycount, a less over-the-top killer (STOP SINGING) and if they got rid of at least one or two of those godawful musical numbers I would've loved this. (wary)

I hated the 20 mins that i watched, probably because it was pure shit and the fact i hate musicals with a passion.

Chances of me ever liking this were going to be pretty slim

Yeah I don't care for musicals; there's only a few I like and this isn't one of them (though I didn't HATE this). Next to stoner comedies, musicals are the most overrated film genre imo. >_>
