Bloody Disgusting has a new trailer and some images. I like all the posters for this film.

This was amazing. It's perfectly directed, and Daniel Radcliff is really great. Overall, the whole film is well cast. The fairy tale atmosphere is great, and I like that it's a horror film willing to incorporate magical realism, even though a disappointingly large number of reviews seem to be questioning there being no explanation for the supernatural events. Even knowing what's coming up from reading the book, it's still really funny. I was laughing out loud, which doesn't even always happen with comedies. The love story was sweet and pretty cute. The movie's simultaneously hilarious, devastating, and a lot more gory than people that didn't read the book would expect. I loved the use of music. This is a rare case when I think it might actually be best to watch the movie before reading the book. Neither one of them are going for a surprise ending, but the book is probably even less suspenseful.

Stuff from reading the book: I think the movie is a bit better. The book definitely needed some editing, and things had to be streamlined for the movie. I loved how they depicted Glenna, who was a favorite character of mine. She didn't play as big of role, but it still worked. I like what they did with Eric and Merrin's father more than in the book. The squished timeline didn't really work, and I would have loved to see the book's ending. There are a few other scenes from the book that I would have liked to see, but I'm happy with the adaptation.

Glad to hear its good! :D

All of the stills and posters with Daniel Radcliffe looking damn fine makes me want to see this sooner. (lol) And it's gory? Ooh. For some reason, gore in any amount was pretty much the last thing I was really expecting from this.

Watched this right after Robby and I came home from the theater (Lazarus Effect<3) and it's definitely one of the best of the ten movies he and I just watched. I'm not sure if it's better that I saw this before reading the book or not, but it's still really great on its own. Like Vanessa said, it was VERY well directed with some pretty striking shots and everything looked gorgeous. It almost reminded me of the look of a Guillermo Del Toro film (but not quite) and it was really colorful most of the time. The forest and the treehouse alone were enough to score this movie points and I dug all of the 'hidden' but 'in the open' biblical references (the diner and the license plates are just some).

The characters were a really interesting, lively bunch. Of course, Ig was my favorite (hurrah for side-view of Daniel's ass ///perv) and he was the most sympathetic and I never disliked him or felt that he was doing 'the wrong thing' even when he took things a bit too far at times (though the 'punishments' were all really satisfying). I liked Merrin too, even though she pissed me off and I didn't see what the big deal was about her until the ending 'twist.' I wanted to punch her during the diner scene (throwing away a decade long relationship out of nowhere?! BITCH!) but once everything was cleared up, I instantly felt bad for her and felt bad for seeing her as a villain of sorts.

I have a new crush on Joe Anderson thanks to the character of Terry and how he looked here even though Terry was sort of a pathetic druggie most of the time. He was a bit selfish and annoying but I never hated him. Glenna is QUEEN! (lol) Her donuts scene was hilarious, her confession to Ig made me feel for her, she was spunky and entertaining, and I really wanted more scenes with her<3. Definitely a favorite of mine. The waitress was SUCH a bitch. Now her, I do NOT feel bad for wanting to clock upside the head. But she too was really entertaining and added a bit of meanness to some scenes, so all is forgiven. Lee is another 'unf' one (so many hot guys in this!) but the character himself was not-so-unf. Well acted, pretty solid story arc, and I

The gore really surprised me. It wasn't all that frequent but when it got bloody, it was usually pretty nasty and unexpected. Great timing!

Overall, this was pretty awesome<3. Definitely recommended!

7+/10 quality, 8.5/10 entertainment.

And the early 'confession' scenes were really fucking funny.
