A family's new satellite TV system starts receiving signals from another planet, and soon it becomes the passageway to an alien world.

The movie is unique. Great cast, but I couldn't get into it. It's available to watch free On Deman in the Impact section if anyone has that.

A cheezy little sci-fi horror. Kind of a weird tribute to 1950's sci-fi while being over the top. And the alien looks amazing, despite being so ugly.

I've seen this a couple of times on TV. the monster alien is suppose to be a house pet that got loose into the Putterman's satelite dish, and eats everyone up! it also has the actor who played Uncle Rico from "Napoleon Dynamite" as the heavy metal boyfriend of Susie, and the Elvira rip off Medusa is smoking Hot!!! and Susie Putterman to, but this a cult classic in my book. (goo) (popcorn) (thanks)

I LOVED this (lol) It's definitely more on the comedy side, but it's actually really funny. I loved how colorful and over the top the movie was, and it kinda reminded me of Earth Girls Are Easy, in that department, along with it being VERY 80's. I loved Medusa, who was essentially an Elvira knock off. I wish

, I liked her alot as well (lol) Everyone in it was great/funny though. I was a little nervous that since the main character is a little boy, that he was going to annoy me, but thankfully that didn't happen.

I don't know where people are getting 'creepy' from though? The monster/alien was more gross looking than anything. I can't even see this being creepy back in the 80's.

Anyway, it was a pretty good horror-comedy that I'll definitely be watching again, and probably even buying :P

If anyone wants to see it, it's up on Youtube in Blu-ray quality.

Twenty minutes into it. Lol, this is the best movie ever. Mary Woronov is so fucking hilarious in this!

I'm definitely buying the bluray that has this and Video Dead.

What makes you think I wouldn't? O_O

I usually only dislike movies like this if:

1. It's 90% comedy, 10% horror (like this was) BUT the comedy totally falls flat (the comedy here worked most of the time)
2. The effects suck and the kills are dry and boring (this had a couple of really gross deaths, the effects were decent and when they were SUPER cheesy, it was obvious that that's what they were going for)
3. All/Most of the characters are boring (pretty much everyone in this entertained me).

I can see why SOME people might not enjoy it but I loved it<3.

I don't know why I thought that, since we both have pretty much the same taste (wary)

I loved Mary Woronov's face when she learned

Her facial expressions were perfect. (lol)

I died at the MTV bit with the random guy on TV and her being all, "Blech! He is so....nnnasty."

This opened with some of the ugliest damn monsters ever. I can see myself listening to the hot mess of a theme song on its own when I'm in the mood to be amused, annoyed, or both. I loved the credits.

This was a weirdly pretty movie. The house itself was gorgeous and with a little redecorating, I'd gladly live there. (chew) Mary Woronov, as I've said, was perfect in this. The family felt a lot like a sitcom family (and for once I'm actually meaning that as a compliment!). I loved the over-the-top costumes. Medusa was absolutely hilarious but should've been brought into the action a bit sooner instead of just

The monster was disgusting, the deaths were decent, Cherry was great, Sherman was adorable and likeable (and I'm usually not terribly fond of kid characters like him), and the gay husband ("I'm into Greek..culture - I like boys!") was hilarious. OD was really annoying though (except for the "Easy dude...big monster dude!" bit that made me laugh).

This was a total blast for the most part<3. Perfect length, good pacing, a lot of fun. It should've had a bit more gore though but it didn't really NEED it.

4/10 quality, 8/10 entertainment.
