Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Sounds pretty awesome. I love when all of the leads of Horror films are female.

I like the bigger poster. Although I don't know anything about this one, the plot looks okay.

The upstairs hallway looked a lot like the upstairs hallway in the main house in You're Next (but I know it wasn't the same location). :P

This was...pretty interesting.

I wish that more of the film had focused on that little Holland festival that was going on in the town the whole time (a chase through the crowded streets during a parade would've been fantastic but that would've probably been out of place since that creepy house and motel-turned-museum were the main focus here). I liked the three girls a lot but two of them were just sort of 'there' for the most part and really didn't have AS much to do as I would've liked. They still left an impact and were fun to watch though. My favorite girl was definitely Jennifer (played by Barbara Bach who looked like she stepped out of a Fulci film - gorgeous eyes and all, lol) but unfortunately, Jennifer never really grew into a total badass of a heroine. Instead, she was more of a "TCM Sally" than a "Friday The 13th Part 2 Ginny" which was fine since her actress really sold the terror and was pretty convincing to the point that I didn't mind that she spent so much in a panicked state.

Ernest was pretty damn horrifying and his actor's performance made it all really disturbing. His backstory alone is enough to make people uncomfortable but the way he acted, how he talked, etc. made it even more freaky. :P I really felt sorry for Virginia and I love that they didn't make her the silent, derpy wife

character. Instead, she grew more than pretty much anyone else and I was satisfied that she

"Junior" was really well acted. Think Sloth meets Leatherface meets the killer from The Funhouse and voila; that's Junior. I do not need to say anything else. (lol) Jennifer's husband was interesting but I didn't really care for him TOO much. In my opinion

I really liked this, despite some flaws here and there. The musical score was also nice and the locations were great<3.

6.5/10 quality. 8/10 entertainment.

I didn't like this as much as I wanted to. It wasn't bad, but I was expecting to like it quite a bit. A merging of TCM with a sleazy 70s thriller is something that I would think be a perfect fit for me. I thought the end and the villain were great. The setting is fun and definitely unique. There's some camera tricks that I enjoyed. I think I needed the girls to have a bit more personality, and I think spacing out the kills more might have been a good idea. Spending more time getting to know the lead without the romantic subplot would have helped me be more invested. I also don't care for Barbara Bach. I only liked her in her Bond role. It's always nice to see Sydney Lassick, though.

If you have a chance to watch the extras, I would definitely do it. Everyone hated the director, which is really interesting. Stephen Furst is always entertaining, and he talks about other movies he worked on in the commentary.

I've only seen it once, as a kid, back in the early '80s one night on pay cable. I remember nothing at all about it except the dude living in the basement peeping on a chick getting into a bathtub. I'm about to watch it again now for the first time since, but as it'll be like watching it for the first time again, when I put it on my October challenge list, I'll be marking it as a first-time watch lol

I finally got around to this awhile back, and I liked it. Barbara Bach is stunning (love)

"Junior" was really creepy.

I kind of wish

had lasted a little bit longer instead of being killed off so quickly though.
