A group of juvenile delinquents are forced to fight for their lives after being sent the forest for an exercise in teamwork and tracked by a crossbow-wielding madman with a pack of flesh-eating dogs. The Young Offenders Institution is the kind of place kids are sent when all hope is lost. In order to test their mettle in an environment where every decision counts, the powers that be at the Young Offenders Institution send their worst offenders into deep into the woods for a tough-love lesson in character-building. Suddenly surrounded by dense forestation, deadly rapids, and a jagged coastline that makes escape virtually impossible, the young criminals must band together after their group leaders are ruthlessly slaughtered. With time running out and their numbers quickly dwindling, these tough-talking teens must put their survival skills to the ultimate test and band together to take down a merciless predator who relishes in watching his victims suffer.

Unfortunately that little review-quote on this poster is exaggerating the extent of the carnage in this film, which was thrilling and entertaining but not AS harsh and nasty as I expected (and wanted) it to be. It was awesome seeing Alex Reid (Beth in The Descent) again but unfortunately her character was shoved aside eventually in favor of a group of teens who, with the exception of three of them, were completely hateable and annoying. To paint a picture of how BAD they are they erm...drove someone to suicide and didn't feel any guilt whatsoever. The acting was okay, the kills were good but not great, the killer's identity reveal was no surprise whatsoever, the pacing was alright and the locations were awesome. I recommend it but it's not an amazing film. 7/10

Surprisingly, the pacing wasn't all that fast. It was nice seeing the actress that played Beth in The Descent in this but unfortunately her character wasn't spotlighted much after the first half of the film. The kills were good, the killer was insanely predictable and I hated all but 3 or 4 of the characters. Average slasher (?!) with a great setting, average pacing, and 'okay' execution. Again, its good for a one time viewing but I don't know if I'll ever be purchasing it.

I really liked this film alot. The characters were good except for the bully assholes in it lol but overall I would give it a 7.5/10 rating. The dogs attacking Sean Pertwee in it was kinda gory and gross.

To be fair, that was the entire point. These are hardened criminals... they're not really going to be particularly cuddly and likeable. And there were some sympathetic ones, so it's not like 90 minutes with only complete assholes (Unfriended, for example). The girls were all pretty okay, then the main guy, and then there's the one bully guy who starts to act more heroically as the movie goes on and tries to redeem himself. I think we actually had more sympathetic characters than not.

I liked this, felt like a hybrid of Wrong Turn 3 and See No Evil, except I thought it was better than both. Decent suspense, characters were interesting enough, solid directing.

Puppy, just because there's no evidence she killed her aunt doesn't make her dating material.
