![]() Denise Watson is a TV station worker who is the only survivor of a unexplained, horrific airplane crash in which she is completely unscratched. Soon, Denise becomes haunted by feelings of unworthiness as well as seeing strange people following her and hearing voices calling her name which no one but she can hear. Disregarding warnings from a psychic actress friend, Denise tries to get on with her life while it's revealed that she was supposed to die in the crash, but somehow escaped, now the unseen specter of death wants to collect her by sending its minions, people that have recently died, to kill Denise and finish the job what death had planed for. More like Final Destination was reminiscent of THIS. I definitely want to give this a watch since I love that concept.

Watching now and it's actually pretty good. It seems that Final Destination and It Follows seemed to take some inspiration from this. |

I LOVE that the poster in the thread mentions Final Destination since this really did feel like a genuinely creepy, suspenseful, deliciously eerie blend of Final Destination, It Follows, and Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers. There are some potent scares up in this bitch and some parts made me mildly uncomfortable and on edge. It's not a flat out TERRIFYING film but some of the images (those fuckin' bodies were creepy as hell and it damn near out-It-Follows'd It Follows in one or two scenes with them up and walking around or standing around in a chilling fashion) definitely lingered with me in the best way. It also helps that this had a couple of great characters. I really liked most of the people in this and just about everyone gave as good of a performance as they could. Everyone delivered and it was clear that the makers were wanting to deliver a genuinely GOOD film and in my opinion, they totally succeeded. For some reason, I feel this would be better alongside Dead And Buried (1981) than the other films I've compared it to but that's mostly due to the style and time it was made. The story itself was simple enough to follow easily but also well thought out enough to not feel super generic. It definitely doesn't blend in with the bulk of other films released in the early-mid 80s. There are plenty that I like more than this one but WAY more that I like a Hell of a lot less. I'm definitely going to be this as soon as possible and watch it again. I can see this being a great watch for winter time as well. ![]() 6.5/10 quality, 8/10 entertainment. |

I reeeally want to buy the new(ish) bluray but like many of Code Red's releases, it's ridiculiusly expensive. Almost $40! |

I take that back. A few sites have it for $23 or so. If the price doesn't drop in a week, I'm ordering it. I've been on a bit of a Code Red binge lately, lol. |
