Just bought a copy of this a week or two ago. Been wanting to see it for quite a while. Hopefully I'll finally get around to it this weekend . . . . J.N. |

This is going to be on TCM Sunday morning at 2AM. Last week or whenever TCM showed The House by the Cemetery. Have no idea why. Especially in December. But I won't complain. Pretty cool if you ask me. |

The things people do to keep a marriage together. Or the idea of it, any way. Such an eerily captivating piece about a marital rift. But it's so much more than that. I think. It was filmed in Berlin during the time the Berlin Wall was still up. One can't help but feel possessed too when watching this. Possessed to see how everything will "work out." It's about faith. Love. Death. Politics. Id. Ego. War. I don't even know where to begin in dissecting this movie. Just see it. It's . . . an experience. For better or worse. There were moments that made me flinch. I am glad that I got to see this, but I don't know what to take away from this. Other than that when a marriage falls apart so does the whole wide world. Literally. Take stock.

Alright I saw this on TCM and it was one of the most intense viewing experiences I have even had. The film just explodes with complete intensity and surrealism and I don't know what any of it means. I felt myself needing to know what happens next and know how it ends and I don't know. |

Yeah, this one's pretty out there. Very intense and surreal, as has been said. It's been ages since I last saw it, but it's one of those films that doesn't require multiple re-watches to refresh your memory. The imagery tends to stick with you. Not as whacked out as, say, Hausu, but strange and memorable in its own morbidly hypnotic way. |

Anyone have this on blu-ray? I love the movie, and I know that I want it. I just can't decide between the Canadian or Mondo ones. |

Sorry, I watched this last night and couldn't make it to the 50 minute mark. I've tried previously to get into this and didn't even make it to 20 the first time. I want a horror movie, not a drama about a marriage falling apart. Give me ghosts, zombies, slashers, werewolves, what have you, but not this. I officially wipe my hands of this one. |

Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup? Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs. My review blog: http://donshorrormovieblog.blogspot.com/ | |
