Norman Bates (disguised as a nun) escapes from the mental asylum where he was committed to at the end of the first novel. The police believe that Bates did not survive his escape attempt because of a fire. However, a growing body count causes his doctor to suspect that Bates is headed to Hollywood where a movie based upon his real-life murders is being filmed. He then goes there. |

Very much so. Robert Bloch decided to write his own sequel, but Universal was prepping the movie PSYCHO II and didn't want him to publish it. But they had no legal right to stop him. Universal's probably still bitter about it, which is a shame because I'm curious to see these other Bloch novels adapted into movies. |
