Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

Who are the best redherrings you've seen in Horror films? And who are the WORST, most obvious red herrings?

Up until we saw the Fisherman in all of his big, intimidating glory, I saw Elsa as a pretty good red-herring in I Know What You Did Last Summer. After all, she was a total bitch, seemed suspicious every now and then, and I would've believed it if it had been revealed that she overheard Helen talking with Barry (or someone else) about the hit-and-run. Of course, I haven't yet read the book, so I'm sure I wouldn't have suspected her one bit if I had read it before watching the film.

I don't know if you count the people in house at haunted hill red herrings, but I liked them all.

What are red herrings? Is it a false something? Like who you think is the victim when it's someone else? or a murderer? That sort of thing?

Yeah basically.
mislead you into thinking they are the killer when they turn out to be innocent.
Or used just as a misleading clue.

I hate when the red herrings are more interesting than the actual story. The worst is usually any movie where it ends up just being in a character's head.
