James Wan-produced Demonic.

Also a Dimension Films title, Maria Bello, Scott Mechlowicz, Frank Grillo, and Cody Horn star. Will Canon directs with a screenplay by Max La Bella.

“The film centers on the aftermath of a horrific massacre: five college students, brutally murdered inside a decrepit, abandoned home. Fresh on the scene, detective Mark Lewis and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein (Bello), question one of the few survivors who explains they were amateur ghost-hunters, seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, believed to be haunted. But what started out as a harmless activity turned into something truly terrifying, and the suspect claims the responsibility doesn’t lie with any of the inhabitants, but with the house itself.“

TWC-Dimention delayed this and Amityville. They haven't announced the new release date.

Meh. I think it's because I've been done with the paranormal genre since Insidious, but this sounds just so...generic.

Can't you see it? The effects of cinema violence on society?

This came out in Brazil last week. I wish they'd announce something about when it's going to be released here.

I think I like the Thai poster a bit better than the Brazilian one:

The poster they used in Brazil, since I apparently didn't share it:

Thai one reminds me very much of The Conjuring. But I love both posters.

I don't care for the red one as much, mainly because of the random eyes.

The one from Brazil has kind of a 90s or 00s direct-to-video look. I do like the flame in the door.

It is getting a release in the UK in September. It'll be going straight to DVD.

Wow, a pretty fresh take on the old film-crew-investigating-haunted-house trope. Definitely interested in this one now.
Do illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

Some people are like slinkies: not good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one falls down the stairs.

I keep expecting this to show up on Netflix, since it seems like it should be a Blumhouse film and that's what they do with their stuff that they keep delaying the release of.

It's going to be on Spike tomorrow. The dvd comes out October 10th, and it will be on Netflix after that.

This apparently has been on the shelf since it ended production in . . . wait for it . . . 2013! Holy shit! (shocked)

I guess it's been out for sometime in other places outside the U.S. though, but whoa . . . That's messed up.

I'll record it tonight, but I should wait for the unedited version on Netflix, no? Hmm . . .

The next question is: which category will we nominate this under for the 2017 awards? Is it a TV movie now? :-/

I needed to clean up my DVR so in the process I decided to delete my recording of this, since I knew I wasn't going to watch this anytime soon. Besides, I think it's supposed to hit Netflix Instant soon, right?
