Horror Quote Of The Moment

Welcome to Under The Morgue.

We have sections for each decade of film, from the 1910s onward, as well as sections for 10+ major franchises, close to 50 'smaller' franchises (containing five entries or less), creative writing, independent filmmaking, photography, music, Non-Horror films and TV shows, forum games, and boredom busters, and to top it all off there's an IM shoutbox at the bottom of the page for random chat. From the tame and 'kid sister friendly' to the psychological and mindbending to cheesy splatter flicks to hardcore torture-oriented horror, there's something here for everyone, so why not dive in?

What are some horror sequels that should never happen, and why do you feel that way?

Note: this can apply to standalone films (explain why they should remain standalones) or franchises (explain why you think the sequels shouldn't have happened, or at what point they should have stopped).

URGH yes X_X Don't even get me started on how the sequel and prequel came close to damning the original Cube. I WOULD like a remake/reboot of the original Cube though, with a new batch of characters and traps and so on. Keep it shrouded in mystery and driven by atmosphere and characters and it could be a damn fine film. (yes)

I wish I could find it again, but one of the rejected scripts they wrote for the second film was amazing. I'd love to see a new Cube, if they were willing to go past the formula and give some actual answers.

Blair Witch: Book of Shadows should not have been connected to the first one.

Red State and any other movie with a similar ending

A sequel to Red State would be a TERRIBLE thing, though Red State is one of my favorites of the last decade.

Some sequels that come 20 odd years later, like Lost Boys: The Tribe and Return to Sleepaway Camp. Not that I've seen either one, but from what I've heard and the trailers I've watched they don't seem good.

Also, if you're going to make a sequel you need to have people who absolutely love the original and want to improve upon it. Not make a cash grab and such.
